It’s up and running today. The name of the new party hasn’t been announced yet.

This just now in the Telegraph:

“The former Labour leader and his fellow now-independent MP said it was “time for a new kind of political party” in a statement today.

The pair have invited voters to sign up to the Left-wing faction via the website yourparty.uk, although The Telegraph understands the new project will not be called Your Party and that its name is to be confirmed.

It comes after Mr Corbyn told activists that the new movement would be established in time to fight Labour nationwide at the local elections in May next year.

In a joint statement, Mr Corbyn and Ms Sultana said: “It’s time for a new political party. One that belongs to you. The system is rigged.”

Well well.
It will split the Labour vote for sure. Starmer won’t be happy.

I like Jeremy Corbin but I wish he’d just find a way to work with the Labour Party. This will just make it easier for the dreadful tories to get back in.

Have fears about this, it will become an Islamist party, solely on the ticket of palestine. Nothing at all about the state this country is in, same as the other Islamists in Parliament in hoc to one vote only. The Muslim vote. Very dangerous waters indeed.

Oh ffs!!
Why are supporters of stopping the genocide and starvation in GAZA called anti-Semitic? OR labelled Islamists or supporters of Palestine?
For ANYONE who has any morals, Christian or any other religion or not… it is WRONG. Innocent babies and children being killed, over 58,000 HUMAN BEINGS killed in the name of revenge, for what was indeed an atrocity to nearly 2,000, but now ALL Gaza’s are being starved out, or to death, by the so called Jewish/ Christian Israelis! So much for Religion! BS! The Spanish Inquisition, The Salem Witch Trials … go to any point in history and you will find Murders and torture being done in the name of some religion or other. Now in the name of Politics too! I despair!

Only 6.7% of the England and Wales population identified themselves as Muslim in the 2021 census. I really can't see them dominating politics in the foreseeable future. Plenty of them vote for other parties.

Do stop this ridiculous scaremongering.

The Islamic party!!?
Dangerous, watch this space.
More of our rights eradicated.

Please get your facts right Zarah is not from Bradford but Birmingham!
I live in Bradford and know my local MPs and she is not one of them!
Whilst I admire her determination I feel that she and Jeremy are fighting a lost cause but if they can keep Farage and co away then good on them !!

I fear it more likely the Fruit and Nut Party will take left wing votes away from Labour and let Reform in. Perhaps Reform Assistance Party would be the right name.

I think he may be anti everything that smacks of establishment and authority. He’s like the character in Rebel Without A Cause who when asked at the end of the film what he’s against, says
‘Whaddya got?’

Corbyn was anti-EU

That's why I won't join his party. I have heard that he is anti NATO too.

There must be so many people bitterly disappointed in Kier Starmer, just as we were in Tony Blair.
I voted Labour to fix broken Britain, to collect taxes to pay for the NHS and public services and to move away from the US, the unacceptable face of capitalism.
The first thing he did was cut support to the old and toss thousands of children deeper into poverty. His only aim is to beat Nigel Farage.
I’d join almost any party with socialist ideals.

Well mock all you like, he will do quite well.
He's a genuine politician who cares about people.

Susieq62 Fri 25-Jul-25 15:44:57

Jeannied Fri 25-Jul-25 14:15:05

Explain this mythical far right! I've only met people who have been right so far.

spabbygirl Fri 25-Jul-25 13:52:05

Oreo

The Fruit And Nut Party it’s being called.😄

that's brilliant!!!!

I hope it fizzles out, I'd like to see Labour a bit more left wing but its a difficult thing to balance

Moii Fri 25-Jul-25 13:46:40

Unfortunately I think you could be right.

Devorgilla Fri 25-Jul-25 12:03:38

I see this as JC's last throw at having a party he fashions. He's not a young man and he has served over 40 years as an MP - no mean feat. He has nothing to lose. He will always have a following. That said, I'm not so sure about the future careers of younger members of this new party. I am sure some MPs will join the new party. More interesting will be which Trade Unions follow. They put a lot of money into Labour and have influence because of the number of MPs returned. Are they willing to risk that for a party that may get 3-4 MPs?

Boz Fri 25-Jul-25 11:35:01

Corbyn has always been a pain in the bum for the LP; he lives to disrupt. The fact that he is not a natural leader of men is obvious.
However, in view of the rising popularity of Reform, perhaps balance is needed and people should be given a left-wing alternative

Allira Fri 25-Jul-25 10:20:37

The Left Overs?

JenniferEccles Fri 25-Jul-25 09:57:54

I love some of the names for the party already suggested!
