Germany and Australia will recognise Palestinian State
It’s been a while so I will start us off…….whats for supper and why?
It is very difficult to understand what is really happening and what are lies being perpetrated by Israel or Hamas. Add to this reporting restrictions and it is surprising we know as much as we do.

Majority of Israelis oppose annexation of Gaza territory.
Survey finds 53.2% are against move, which government is said to have threatened Hamas with if it doesn't reach a hostage deal. 38% support annexation. 7.9% had no opinion.

An American doctor has invited President Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff to visit the Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza where he is currently working.
“There are children that are starving. ,” Dr Thomas Adamkiewicz, a paediatrician tells the BBC. “This is barbaric. It’s a crime scene.”
The paediatrician describes seeing young children in the emergency room, passing out and disoriented from lack of food, and says it is “heart-breaking”.
He says that his Palestinian colleagues are “gaunt” because they had not eaten proper meals in days.
He also speaks about helping to treat an 11-year-old who is most likely paralysed for life. The boy had already lost siblings in the war and was shot while trying to get food for his family.

We, citizens of Israel, working in Israeli academic institutions, share civil responsibility for the horrendous acts done in our name at the Gaza Strip, in particular the contempt for human lives, the policy of starvation and the demolition of Gazan cities.
We call upon all those who take part in executing this policy not to cooperate with it. It is our human duty.

Thank you GNs. My thoughts exactly when I was able to post. I went into my account to read email but red flags waved when they asked me to identify myself. No, you already have that! I posted on Report the email and it has now disappeared from my inbox.
Devorgilla if your account has been suspended you would not have been able to post the above message.
A few other posters have received the same message, I suspect a scam…
Hang on!
It looks like a scam maybe Devorgilla as quite a few site members seem to have had this message.
I gather my account has been suspended. I was in danger of 'breaching UK law' with my comments. No idea which one. Perhaps a lawyer on here can assist me in that. No idea either if email was genuine suspending me. Came from Suppot1Grans. So it's farewell from me.

The 'Truth' in these situations is very elusive. Suppose journalists are let in to roam freely. Who guards them? Who selects the areas they go to? Who watches and listens to whom they speak? Who is friend and who is foe? My experience of disputes like this anywhere in the world is that 'The Truth' or best version of it takes decades to emerge and only when people feel confident, and safe, to tell it. By all means let journalists take the risk but don't necessarily expect the truth. 'The Truth' in situations like this is usually what others want you to hear.
This exactly.
There is absolutely no doubt that hamas have been using pics staged as propaganda, smooth faced made up faces of ‘mothers’ and other put together pics featuring hands with too many fingers and legs in weird positions. It’s easy enough to do.
That doesn’t mean that Palestinians there haven’t paid a high price for their support of hamas, because they undoubtedly have.It doesn’t mean that a very big proportion of the deaths there that have been officials or members or supporters of hamas haven’t also included their own families alongside them.
The question is how bad will things have to get for hamas to give up?There’s nothing left for them there but extremists are always the last to see it.

I agree, Babs and am guilty of this myself. At what point does Israel accept that it has successfully defeated Hamas? It has an excellent intelligence system so use it to identify where the hostages are bring held and go in to rescue them. They have suffered enough.
Because it’s sooo easy isn’t it? I never know to laugh or cry reading comments like the above.

People seem to be getting engrossed with smaller details without looking at the bigger picture, is called muddying the waters.
The fact is everyone knows now that the IDF under Netanyahu and extreme right cronies are committing war crimes/genocide, with their latest weapon of choice being starvation.

For number three on gg13 s list number 4 needs to happen, because any food of which there has been precious little is not being fairly distributed by the GHF
👏👏👏 Devorgilla their truth, our truth ——-the truth !

Does Israel have a choice ?

I know what I would like to see happen in Gaza
1. Hamas to return all remaining live hostsges and the bodies of those who are dead.
2. Hamas to surrender, unconditionally.
3. Food and medical aid allowed in and distributed fairly.
4. Independent Aid agencies allowed in.
5. Independent journalists allowed in.
Praying for numbers 1 and
3 on your list.
The others unlikely.
As another poster said Hamas aren't afraid to die for their cause and will fight on.
I believe Israel wants to continue the fight too so allowing independent journalists is unlikely to happen.

It's more likely that Hamas takes pictures to post on the internet. The mothers wouldn't dare to complain xxx
This. We need journalists allowed to do their work, to report and photograph, to film. I find the refusal to allow this disgusting shocking and more

I am astonished that a poster has asked if the parents have any respect for their dead children. What a question.
I asked the question after a post said parents are not posting
photographs of their dead children,
