Much as I dislike Trump I believe he might have enough influence to achieve this.

Nobody in the world will stop it as they know it needed to be done, that’s the truth of the matter.

No. Most agree it is disproportionate and no longer defence but a deliberate clearing of all Palestinians from Gaza
The only way it could have been stopped was for troops from other countries to go in to Gaza and the result would be catastrophic.
I believe other countries are reluctant to call this genocide because then they have the right to go in to Gaza under international law on a rescue mission and would cause even more problems.

Extremist Islamist ideology may never die unfortunately as we know to our cost here in the UK and in many other countries around the world. All any country can do is to be vigilant and Israel will now be hyper vigilant.

The ideology will never die. Until Israel in good faith come to peace and support a Palestinian state, they will never be free of violence.

I find it easier to believe what visiting members of the medical profession say about conditions in Gaza than spokesmen representing the Israeli government say. I'd be more inclined to believe the Israeli government if they allowed independent journalists into Gaza to report what they see but of course, they don't. To those who say, the people they see queuing for food don't look starving, well why would anyone send the most vulnerable people out to walk miles and queue in the heat for hours? When you see skeletal men queuing for food most of the old, the young and the sick will have already died!

Look at any street scene, not any queues for aid.

You are completely wrong on this. You are seeing only what you want to see.

I listened to James Elder. I suggest you do the same.

It won’t be long now before it’s at an end but it sadly was necessary to eliminate hamas as any kind of force in Gaza after what they did. It’s entirely of their making.

Denying malnutrition on a massive scale together with starvation in Gaza is misinformation which encourages people to turn their back on the suffering, and gives Israel the freedom to inflict even more evil onto men women and children, whose only crime is to live in Gaza. That in my opinion is a crime almost as bad as the act itself.

MSF, Save the Children and Oxfam are amongst the hundreds of aid agencies who have warned of the severity of the suffering in Gaza.

There will be a whole generation who will be both physically and cognitively affected for the next 60+ years.

I cannot believe we are seeing this happen.
And there is nothing being done to stop it.
What a damming episode in history this will be.

valdavi if there’s one thing I’m not, is naive.
I wrote that as hamas have been the governing body in Gaza for a long time and instead of using all the money and resources that flowed their way to make life better for Gazans they have done the opposite.Encouraged people to hate Jews and Israelis in particular from a very young age, if you don’t believe that then do some googling on the subject.Spent massive amounts on weapons, propaganda to their own people and tunnels everywhere.Subjugated Gazans to the point of everyone being afraid of them while recruiting as young as possible to their own hate filled cause.
All culminating in the invasion of Israel on October 7th 2023.

Oreo Sat 13-Sept-25 10:38:45

There is malnutrition in Gaza, which means poor nutrition which occurred with the aid blockade earlier this year, there isn’t mass starvation in Gaza. Palestinians stealing aid and selling it for extortionate prices in the markets didn’t help.
Poor nutrition alongside serious medical conditions are what’s causing some sad deaths but poor nutrition alone doesn’t cause deaths.
In any war or conflict, this will happen. The worst cases were and are still being taken to other countries where possible.

valdavi Sat 13-Sept-25 10:34:35

Wyllow3 your ideas that if Palestine had been a State then the murderous invasion by hamas would never have happened are just suppositions on your part. The Palestinians would still have hated Jews and wanted them out.
This conflict is entirely of hamas and it’s supporters making.

That last sentence I find unbelievably naive.

What serious illness does this child have.?You seem to know. I will take the word of British doctors who have been treating children with serious malnutrition. One said that you never want to see starving children.
It must be heartbreaking for the medics

I find using one photograph of a child posed for the camera is sickening,

Babs03 Sat 13-Sept-25 10:30:38

As Wyllow said - no comment.
No point.

Babs03 and any others, babies and young children in Gaza who had serious medical conditions were taken into other countries for treatment, even as far away as Italy.Which was absolutely the right thing to do.If there was a war here and now there would be babies and children with life threatening medical conditions and we would hope they would be allowed safe passage to a neighbouring country too.The sad photos you see are posed without any information as to the illness to try and give the impression that all young children are starving to death in Gaza. Very ill children are being used for propaganda purposes.
Try enlarging any street pictures taken on mobile phones by Gazans and you’ll see that adults and children are not emaciated like the pic of the Israeli hostage in the tunnel, who truly has been starved deliberately.

Babs03 Sat 13-Sept-25 10:25:20

Thanks Wyllow.

Shame on those who are denying the obvious. If anyone denies the Holocaust is deplorable. Denying this is just as bad.

A serious ill child, no one has denied this, cause of illness unknown,

So all the babies and children dying from starvation have serious illnesses. You’re right, they do, it’s called starvation.
Am not sure how you continue to deny this but I suppose human beings are capable of self deceit when the reality is just too awful.

Not giving up!

I despair.
I truly despair.
And yet the denials persist.
