Much as I dislike Trump I believe he might have enough influence to achieve this.

Hamas could just release the hostages.
There’s a novel thought.

Well done Israel. Finish the job. These vermin terrorists hiding amongst their own citizens are despicable.

So you are encouraging a waring country to ignore the rules of engagement!

Well done.

Eloethan Tue 09-Sept-25 16:28:44

You may be right that many people are more bothered about things closer to home than the killing of 60,000 Gazan citizens and the maiming of thousands of others, plus the ongoing starvation of the remainder of the population.

Many people in the UK weren't that bothered about what was happening in Nazi Germany either - as was demonstrated by the fact that, other than a number of children, most Jewish people were refused admission to the UK.

Israel seems determined to cause violence, chaos and unrest throughout the world. I don't think it wants any solution to the violence, except more violence and the elimination of the Palestinian people. The targeting of Qatar seems to be designed to thwart any efforts to negotiate a halt to the violence between Israel and Hamas.

There is a question of whether the US knew about the attack on Qatar. It is a sovereign country and has a huge US air base there.
If they did know then relations with the gulf Arab allies could be affected.

Israel are on a killing spree. They have become obsessed with Hamas and have killed 64,000 Palestinians and only 8000 were Hamas.
Did they think of innocent lives when they bombed Qatar. They will fulfill their aim to the end.

Yes, Israel will fulfill their aim to the end, take out as many of hamas as is humanly possible and try and get both alive and dead hostages back.

I'm glad I'm not one of those millions Oreo.

I’m not one of the millions either, but the fact remains that a lot of people are more bothered by things close to home.

Oreo Tue 09-Sept-25 15:20:46

It isn’t experienced to say which country is complicit! They should stick to medical matters.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 09-Sept-25 15:19:07

So don’t look there look here?

We were talking about MSF, which in my opinion is more experienced than the U.K. government.

Amazing how accurate Israel's intelligence is and how precise they can be hitting a target when they've been neither in Gaza isn't it.

Israel has bombed a building in Doha, Qatar.

Apparently the building was the venue for a Hamas head honcho meeting.

Good for them.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I too agree with Labour’s stance on Gaza

Oreo Tue 09-Sept-25 15:16:44

Eloethan it may surprise you but there are millions in the UK who don’t give two hoots what happens in the Middle East, they are only concerned with what happens here.

But it is nonsense to say that the UK is complicit , and it wasn’t a GN poster who said that it was, it was the MSF according to you.

I am much more prepared to listen and believe a well respect charity, that has been operating throughout the world for over half a century with all that experience under their belt than an individual poster, with zero experience.

So, the MSF doctors say that the UK is complicit in Gaza and what happens there, our government ( which isn’t an individual poster with zero experience) that’s you or me btw, thinks quite differently and that we aren’t complicit and I agree with that.
You disagree with Labour’s stance on Gaza and I agree with Labour’s stance on Gaza.

I was expecting Israel to do this when I learned that Hamas leaders were in Doha. What next?

annie do you ever listen to anything.

I can’t see how any of your posts can be taken seriously when clearly you don’t read or listen to anything that we have said.

Answer this

How many times have we repeated that Hamas is a terrorist group, started this whole disaster on Oct 7th, and are war criminals.

I reckon hundreds of times.

Can’t you think of anything new to say?

we ? the royal we or you as a group decided who will reply and when?

I read, if I didn’t how could I dismiss’ Netanyahu is attacking Gaza to avoid appearing in court on criminal charges’ and Al I have questioned, me thinks you mean “you must believe us”

Eloethan Tue 09-Sept-25 15:07:24

Israel has killed over 60,000 people now - and maimed many thousands of people - including children - also. Now they are destroying residential high rises with people inside who presumably don't have the resources to leave, are too frail to do so, have no idea where they have to go to be safe and possibly have lost the will to live - can you blame them? If they leave, they will still be in danger from the military and they certainly won't be well fed or watered or have recourse to medical care if they need it.

If you want charges to be brought anniebach then let us have a level playing field, with charges of mass murder of citizens brought against the Israeli leadership.

Oreo I don't know which people you are referring to - maybe people you know. I have spoken to many people who are absolutely appalled by Israel's actions. No doubt they are worried about domestic issues, like inflation, too but that doesn't cancel out many people's concerns about what has been described by several reputable sources as genocide/ethnic cleansing.

Israel has carried out a strike on senior Hamas leaders in Qatar's capital Doha
A Hamas official says its negotiating team was targeted
The negotiating team is based in Doha; they have not been involved in any indirect negotiations with Israel since July
Qatar's foreign ministry condemns the attack "in the strongest possible terms", saying it "will not tolerate this reckless Israeli behaviour and the continuous tampering with the security of the region"
Images show smoke rising above buildings in Doha

We have sheltered various Russians in the past.

Look how Putin poisoned them.

Imagine if he had dropped a bomb on London.

Israel should not be allowed to act with impunity.

Israel was attacked by Palestinian Hamas , this is a fact
Yes and anyone would expect Israel to defend itself against such horror.

However, as part of the civilised western allies, Israel is signed up to the rules of engagement in times of warfare which includes proportionality.

They broke that rule on day 2.

So all terrorists are immune from charges because they are not civilised . I disagree , that’s it

Nothing to do with the visit from the Israeli President then.😡

The government are digging their own grave.

People will never forgive them for playing politics with peoples lives.

Which people?
Here in the UK people ( apart from any anti semites of course) care more about the cost of living and anything that affects us here.

Or to put it a slightly different way;

"here in the UK, many gullible people have been totally distracted from Ukraine/Palestine/ WTF Trump is doing in USA"

by Farage and Others '

Their daily insistence that WE here at home in UK are a nation under deadly attack from an irresistible invasion of violent criminals, rapists and thieves hellbent on wrecking our country's economy and infrastructure and killing our children , etc etc. We're the ones struggling to earn a crust, buy food , find a roof, etc.

"Don't worry about Gaza and Kiev, folks, we're under enemy attack right here in er, Kent. The cost of living is a threat to digestive biscuits! Wave the flag, little Britain! There'll be blue birds over the white cliffs of dover....."

AGAA4 Tue 09-Sept-25 14:48:10

Hamas are a spent force now. Keeping focus on them allows Israel to do what they planned from the start to clear Gaza of Palestinians.

The IDF are moving further into Gaza city now and have warned those who are left that they will be treated to strong force.
That means those who are too sick, disabled or elderly and unable to take the long journey to the south will be murdered.
I don't think Israel actually knows if there are any Hamas left in Gaza city as they have probably left.
