Yes, last forever.....and no weeds ever, just keep the edges mainly tidy, although enough encroaching with the right carefully designed plants to stop the very bland look it has atm.
Mainly now, its a matter of lighter coloured bush leaves at the end of the garden - some lime green, some whites, to echo the sparkly grey flecked teardrop.
It was/is fun designing it, not so much fun carrying it out, but I do pay for some help, it's far too big for one person to look after. If I were staying I wouldn't have gone to so much trouble, but a really attractive garden is a "better sell rate" feature.

Martin Lewis Detained Immediately After Live ITV Broadcast [SCAM ALERT - EDITED BY GNHQ]

Martin Lewis Detained Immediately After Live ITV Broadcast
He Exposed a Secret Income Scheme the British Government and Elites Have Been Hiding from Ordinary Citizens for Years
What if we told you that the UK government, leading banks, and billionaire elites have been secretly hiding access to a passive income programme that could provide financial freedom to every British citizen?
During the filming of This Morning on ITV, Martin Lewis broke his silence and, for the first time, publicly revealed the existence of a legal, government-backed platform capable of transforming the financial reality of millions. As it turns out, those in power have known about this system for years — and have done everything in their power to keep it hidden from the public. The original broadcast was heavily censored under pressure from above.
But despite efforts to suppress it, a portion of the uncut interview has leaked online. And now, you are one of the very few who has access to the truth.
During the interview, Martin Lewis appeared visibly tense and hesitant. As it later became clear, he fully understood the risks — but chose to speak the truth anyway, for the sake of those watching at home.

Well here is the work in my garden, my design, just the path had the wrong stuff put down and I wanted the teardrop at the end to shine. They also repointed the brick path.
Ah, yes, I've seen drives and paths like that.
Very smart and probably long lasting too.
Thank you, sundowngirl I adore it too, but it's all too much looking after itm and next year I am downsizing.
Well, I can't actually afford to live here longer as the rendering of the whole house needs doing too and so on....
off to McCarthy and Stone place I know well, from a friend and I will use my creative energies on arts and crafts and sewing and seeing friends and so on. So the garden in a way is being prepared for max attractiveness for sale as well as enjoying it for the now. And then the place has a lovely garden, and there are the Botanical Gardens..
As regards watching out for scams, I nearly missed an important call, as a medical call came through on my old landline as "anonymous" which was a new one on me, its a good job after 15 seconds I said "hello" and it was OK, I nearly missed it!
I love your garden Willow!

I have read GNHQ comment on the post but I think adding "SCAM" to the title box might be pertinent in order readers quickly realise it's not as it seems.
Sorry you're getting such grief Willow.
That’s exactly what this thread needs, as tho the link has gone it still reads as a real message for those not very scam aware on GN.

^By the way Allira as you can see I'm my normal chatty and trying to be helpful self - what on earth made you jump in above and have a go at me? Was it really necessary*? "Why"?
I wasn't having a go at you, Wyllow, I just felt rather sorry for petra who was being told she was being spiteful when it seemed to be just advice to always check your sources. Which you normally do.
I see GNHQ have amended the title anyway, good idea.
Can we move on?
It's a block paving driveway, cleaning then resin coating - he quoted silly money. DH was out when he came, the young man probably thought he could pull the wool over DD's and my eyes. We'll get more quotes.
Allira
Thank you for that 😊 That’s exactly what I intended.
It was only a few days ago that I had to give an elderly neighbour ( a good friend) a real firm talking to on this very subject.
I even told her it doesn’t matter if the caller tells you he’s King Charles tell him to f-%k off and end the call.
But she knows I get angry when I care.

That sounds like the old terrazzo work.
Don't see it much now.
No, it's a garden path in such a pretty colour winding up the garden, and a tear shaped twinkly rock colour at the "wild" end of my long gardens. It IS very expensive but looks absolute gorgeous and no maintenance ever.
its the cost of the materials. when you see them, and how they carefully mix what are small granules on site of different colours to get exactly what you want, and the subtle colour variations made by very, very skilled people, you understand why its so expensive.
I dont like too much resin - its very bland especially combined with the all over place rendering on some homes, although it is the fashion - but if you get the right people, its fair prices for what you are getting.

On the subject of scams, is there anyone else here banks with Lloyds Bank? it is becoming almost impossible to pay new recipients online. `now they make you ring them, you get a lecture on security, and worse - my example - on Friday I was trying to pay a new persons who'd laid a lot of resin down.
Yes, we are and recently had to pay a large bill for a new kitchen. We didn't have to phone but the are you sure questions that kept popping up are enough to make you nervous, checking, double checking and triple checking the numbers. Luckily it went straight through, perhaps because we'd set the recipient up when we paid a deposit.
Scammers are so sophisticated now I suppose it's better to be sure. They're evil.
Is that a resin driveway? We thought about it but the young man who came to quote seemed to be plucking numbers of £s out of the air!

In the times we are living in your immediate reaction should have been to check out the story. What a spiteful attack on someone who cares about the world we live in and immediately says was caught out herself, and in fact it turns out to be a useful shared discussion. Shame on you.
btw,
With online M n S orders you can now order and click and collect even from food stores, hurray, at last!
That is not in the least spiteful, in fact it is sound advice.
Organisations have been sued for spreading fake scams online like this.
And to answer those who rush to defend this, saying Willow3 usually checks her sources, she may do usually, but she didn't this time and luckily others challenged the post.

Yes. Good idea.
The line

is in tiny print on my phone, so I probably wouldn't even notice it. GNHQ could highlight these interventions in red maybe or at least make them more prominent.
Yes, the small pile of "returns" to M n S (still within return dates) I have collected can now go back to my food store down the road, what a relief.

the questions they were asking! The Address that the company was registered with at companies house! It was a good job the bloke was with me, I hadn't a clue!
I kept saying, has Llouds been scammed/attacked and they all deny it, but going online within this bizarre conversation, I googled "Lloyds cyber attack" and yes, they had been attacked but the level of denial was appalling.
Good old M n S coming clean, apologising, giving us all as much information as possible at every point, and risking taking a long time to properly rebuild their systems.

I believe in taking a positive not bitter view of the world. Ie - mistake made - lesson learnt - serves as a warning to others:
why bother to attack any poster you have a personal grievance about
- especially when the moderators have said "we've left it in as a lesson"
and indeed, as people give more examples, it goes imo become more not less valuable.
I also feel really sorry for Martin Lewis, a good man who has helped so many, and I appreciate other posters giving examples of similar attacks so's we can all learn.

I see no “spite” in this response!
Good news about M&S though

I think it IS harmful to leave the thread up. Lots of "others" just read the titles, or maybe the opening lines, so the wrong information sticks and gets passed on. That's what's spreading.
Wyllow3 it's hard to apologise for a mistake on GN without having half the world and its granny descending on you post after post. Even thread after thread from now on. It seems everyone wants to add to your misery, sometimes spitefully, but that's just how it is. I respect you for swiftly apologising. No one is right all of time.
Thank you escaped yes it has been really upsetting. I have reported one of the remarks above to the moderators.
If it’s too good to be true
don’t fall into these scams they’re all over the place tricking people into giving them money

Just remembered Robert Prescott was supposedly being sacked for revealing this money making nonsence.
