I don't know why, as you're objecting to it being in the news, that you're giving it more oxygen, but as you've mentioned it the "domestic abuse charges" he's actually been charged with include rape, coercive and controlling behaviour, three counts of sexual assault, three counts of intentional strangulation, two counts of making a threat to kill, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He's pretty well known as a photographer on Oasis tours.

I know what he’s been accused of, having heard it - four times now. I’m not minimising the seriousness of his crimes, but it would not get national news publicity if it was Joe Bloggs. I just don’t get why it’s newsworthy just because he is related to celebrities. He isn’t a pretty well known photographer either, just a brother.

Why isn’t he being treated like Joe Bloggs though? Why do we need to know this? There are so many major news stories that get inadequate coverage, it just annoys me when they report these gossipy things instead.

I agree with you, he’s not famous just happens to be a brother.
Anyone with connections to someone well known are always given this treatment.

I never watch the news, I always see the news on the Internet, that way I can pick and choose what I want to read about and reject what I'm not interested in.
