4 of the 5 conditions are fulfilled.

UN report.

It's appalling that the bombing continues while peace talks are being held. Is this what a government does when it really wants peace?

Maremia Tue 07-Oct-25 11:41:26

Two years on, and at last a chance of peace.

Maremia Sun 05-Oct-25 16:57:37

Lovely thought lixy.

But we hope and hope Maremia. There is always an outburst before it stops, so we hope some more.
The darkest hour is before the dawn.

Sadly no. Bombing still ongoing, and no news, that I can see, about the hostages.

It’s known that teenagers as young as 16 and 17 took part in the 7th October atrocities and were later caught by the IDF.
At what age innocence ends is an unknown.

Yes and a poster said they were children who threw stones

Thanks AGAA4 😃

Maremia Sun 05-Oct-25 13:44:27

Everyone waits in hope.

Oreo

Time to look forwards now tho, and hope that this week will bring a return of all hostages and the end of this conflict.

For once I agree with you. Keep safe.

Okay then Annie, over to you . Give us your definition, if you so chose, of when a child is old enough to no longer be considered 'innocent

Thank you, I choose not to

Because we know for absolute certainty that all of the children on both sides of this conflict are innocent. I was trying to find a commonality, that EVERYONE on here could agree with.
Are you thus able to agree that Palestinian children are among the innocent?

Depends on age

Are you AnnieB?

Anniebach Sun 05-Oct-25 04:17:59

Only Palestinian children innocent , all Palestinian adults ?

Maremia Sat 04-Oct-25 20:41:16

They both are, absolutely, but blame both, (not you Allira) not just and only the one side. Both sides are culpable. This conflict could have been resolved long before now. More of the hostages could have survived, fewer innocent Palestinian children killed.

Allira

I can never understand why there is not a ceasefire in these situations while negotiations take place.

Just STOP!

I cant, either. I see no critical reason/significant gain for Isreal to continue the bombing and withholding of aid and more people dead whilst talks happen. So much suffering.

On the one hand everyone who want the hostages returned must feel why on earth is Netanyahu continuing to put backs up we want our loved ones home, and on the other we get yet more pictures of the most appalling suffering from Gaza.

😢

Allira Sat 04-Oct-25 18:38:05

Maremia

The peace efforts will proceed more quickly, when Israel joins in the efforts, and stops the bombing.

I think they are both intransigent.

Hamas wants Netanyahu to stop the bombing
Netanyahu says he wants the release of all the hostages.

We can only hope a truce then a lasting peace can be reached.

That would be a start.

Oreo Sat 04-Oct-25 17:28:22

I’m hopeful for the hostage release but fear there will be time wasting from hamas beforehand.
This week is pivotal.

Once, if, the Gaza situation is resolved, which I believe to be the wish of all on this thread, although I can't speak for the Shadows, only those who post, in a way that satisfies the Palestinian people of all faiths, yes, the Christians as well, then there will be no need to march for justice for Gaza, as that will have been achieved

By Palestinians and Christians

Maremia Sat 04-Oct-25 15:48:57

But, as I type this, Netanyahu's army is still bombing Gaza.
