4 of the 5 conditions are fulfilled.

UN report.

Israel (not not just the Israeli government) is guilty of genocide

And yet the world watches😢

History will be the judge of this horror.

The latest outrageous offensive is being launched where many more lives will be lost.

Listening to a Jewish woman telephoning from Israel describing the horror that Israeli are feeling at the actions of Netanyahu.

Netanyahu gave a speech last night which was so awful in its content that it has caused the Israeli stock exchange to crash, and many Israelis are out protesting on the streets.

Israel has ignored UN resolutions re their appalling treatment of Palestinians for decades. They won’t stop now.
I,ve been marching WITH Jewish people in the Scottish Support for Palestine for a very long time .I hope with all my heart that someone somewhere can bring an end to the suffering these people have endured
I am not a supporter of Hamas…but sometimes desperate people go down a wrong route when no one has listened for a long time.As was see in other countries ,Mandela?

GrannyGravy13 Tue 16-Sept-25 11:02:22

The line has been crossed many times over the last months.

What started out as a reaction to the events of 7/10 is now out of hand.

Personally I have no idea how it will end or who has the cajunas to stop Netanyahu.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 16-Sept-25 11:11:03

So a “super Sparta” eh.

No wonder the stock exchange crashed.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 16-Sept-25 11:15:56

British Jewish lady on the phone, “the children in Gaza, remind me of the Holocaust”

Her fathered survived in the camps because he was given help - we must give help to these children.

Listening to her my eyes fill with tears.

The world is waking up to the fact that there is no longer any possible justification for what the Israeli government are doing but only the US president can do something about it by cutting all funding and arms to Israel. And that would be Trump, who just wants to get his hands on some prime real estate in Gaza.

KaylieSipes Tue 16-Sept-25 16:35:32

I don't officially participate in the policies or enjoy them. But I understand they are really harsh...!

AGAA4 Tue 16-Sept-25 16:46:12

Netanyahu is ignoring his own people. Some are camped out by his home hoping to stop this carnage.
They know the hostages have been forgotten as he flattens Gaza city.

Maremia Tue 16-Sept-25 16:54:32

It is such a pity that 'Israel' and not 'the Israeli Government' has been indicted.

valdavi Tue 16-Sept-25 17:17:44

Maremia - it is just.
I know there've been many protests, but the Israelis who elect Yoav Galant and Netanyahu must share some of their views.
The genocide has been carried out by the IDF.
I hope the 3 named as inciting the genocide will be tried in due course, but 'Israel' is committing genocide, that is what is happening.I wish they weren't, but-

Whitewavemark2 Tue 16-Sept-25 17:23:30

I’m not convinced that citing a whole country is terribly clever.

Of course individuals will be complicit, just like Nazi Germany there were people who were undoubtedly complicit, but the west in its wisdom did not charge the whole of the German population

Doing this will bring grief and possible hatred. It isn’t right.

Babs03 Tue 16-Sept-25 17:32:48

I also wouldn’t indict Israel, am sure some Israelis support the action being taken by Netanyahu but there are those who probably don’t. Is the government that need to be indicted.

Babs03 Tue 16-Sept-25 17:35:59

Agree that the Israeli government have condemned the hostages to death and their families to suffer a bereavement that could have been prevented.
Going all out to bomb Gaza City will ensure this happens.

Cossy Tue 16-Sept-25 17:45:25

The entire situation is both horrific and tragic.

Netanyahu has treated his own people with contempt that Hamas have treated both the people of Gaza and the people of Israel.

This has to stop!

Allira Tue 16-Sept-25 18:09:26

Maremia

It is such a pity that 'Israel' and not 'the Israeli Government' has been indicted.

Yes, that label could now cause more problems.

The Nazi regime, Hitler, the SS, some of the Army and other collaborators were guilty of the Holocaust.
Not the German people as a whole.

It is the Israeli Government and some of the IDF and supporters who should have been named, not a whole country.

Smileless2012 Tue 16-Sept-25 18:10:00

I wouldn't indict Israel for Netanyahu's genocide anymore than I would indict Gaza for the horrors committed by Hamas.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 16-Sept-25 18:12:37

Quite

Ditto

Babs03 Tue 16-Sept-25 18:35:23

I agree Smileless. 👍

valdavi Tue 16-Sept-25 19:40:31

But Gaza has suffered for the horrors committed by Hamas terrorists - indicted or not.
So it seems to me that many do indict Gazans for those horrors.

foxie48 Tue 16-Sept-25 20:01:38

The only person who can stop this horror is Trump but I don't think he will. The Israeli government can only continue with US support and I don't think most Israeli's support this war. I think they did initially because they were angry but now, I think they realise where this war is taking Israel and it's a really bad place. What a terrible mess. There's lots of ways for people to help Gaza, please, if you have a bit of extra cash, do think about sending it to those charities that will be central to helping Gazans. They need our help.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 16-Sept-25 20:08:22

I do, but it doesn’t stop the killings.

What I fear is that Gaza will be completely flattened and it’s people will be made homeless and stateless. Israel will grab the land and Trump will add to his immense coffers by developing the strip for pleasure and settlement.

It is rewarding the murderers and land grabbers.
