4 of the 5 conditions are fulfilled.

UN report.

I agree It makes for very unpleasant reading Oreo but it isn't victim blaming.

No ones blaming the victims of that horrific attack. Questions were raised very early on about the possible culpability of the Israeli government and security forces for ignoring intelligence in the days leading up to the attack. Questions that in all likelihood will never be answered.

Unless I've missed it, the Israeli government has never even alluded to the possibility that mistakes were made.

Anniebach Fri 19-Sept-25 16:47:56

Agree Oreo I will ignore such allegations

Anniebach Fri 19-Sept-25 16:45:48

May baffle you Smileless , not me, I didn’t believe it when it was first spoken of still don’t believe any of it, and for one man to bring such horrors to his country with no questions asked, no.

Anyway it has moved on, since Trump because president Netanyahu and Trump want to turn Gaza into a luxury holiday resort

Oreo Fri 19-Sept-25 16:44:37

The victim blaming going on here is very depressing , mistakes were made by security at that time as mistakes are made all the time by the authorities everywhere.
Terrible atrocities took place, deliberately and in cold blood so would you please stop making out that it was allowed somehow to happen by Israeli defence or government. It makes for very unpleasant reading.

All this to avoid a court hearing more likely to have a reason to flatten Gaza and drive the Palestinians from their homes so that Israel could take it over Annie.

Security and army personnel weren't at full strength that day and the music festival was moved closer to the border, both decisions certainly questionable when 'unusual activity^ had been reported.

That of course doesn't suggest that Netanyahu et al knew that if Hamas crossed the border they would murder, rape, burn alive Israelis but bearing in mind they are a terrorist organisation and an enemy of Israel, watering down security and moving the music festival was and for me, remains a baffling decision.

The women on watch who made the reports were of the impression that them being women was why their information wasn't taken seriously ronib. If so, why bother having women carrying out those duties?

It doesn't 'add up' for me either Maremia. When there's a terrorist group just the other side of the border and information of 'unusual activity' is reported on several occasions, why ignore it hmm.

I hope this will be investigated at some point. The hostages families have a right to know.
Now knowing the characters of some of the leaders of the Knesset I find that nobody in Israel was apparently aware of what Hamas was planning very suspicious. The acclaimed intelligence services must have been inept not to have any idea of the impending attack.

Anniebach Fri 19-Sept-25 16:22:16

There are two explanations put forward,

1, as you spoke of ronib

2. Netanyahu working with Hamas ordered security and army personnel to take time off for a Jewish holiday, allowing Hamas freedom to murder, rape, burn alive Israelis, he even had the music festival moved closed to the border
added to this some time later - security and army officers on retirement would report this

All this to avoid a court hearing

Seems not all posting now were posting shortly following 7th October 2023, it was certainly claimed as truth

ronib Fri 19-Sept-25 15:50:21

I don’t know for sure but the information may have been ignored because women were reporting it. Therefore somehow it wasn’t reliable?? Pretty disgraceful if true and it’s a big if. Smileless2012

GENOCIDE denial does not make the crime go away.

A court of law defines allegations of genocide as truth, this has not taken place
And when that is announced?
I suppose you will say the ruling was rigged because Hamas infiltrated the courtroom or the judge was antisemitic.

Suppose

used when you are annoyed:
I suppose (that) you're going to be late again.
I suppose (that) you think that's funny. Well, I certainly don't.

Looks like Arab states previously allies of Israel and the US are swapping allegiances.
Well done Netanyahu and Trump for both making this region far less West friendly.
And all of us should expect a cooling of relations to affect the global economy which will ultimately affect the UK economy.
Trump shouldn’t get the Peace prize but the ‘shot to pieces’ prize.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 19-Sept-25 11:43:38

Saudi and other Middle Eastern countries are debiting entry to Israelis.

That has always puzzled me, Smileless. Why did they ignore the warnings? Doesn't add up. Maybe at the International War Crime trials we will hear the truth.

Saudi Arabia signs mutual defence pact with nuclear armed Pakistan after Israel attacks Qater.
Is that another ally lost to Israel?

Smileless2012 Fri 19-Sept-25 11:05:11

Just as silly as Trump being granted one Annie.

Netanyahu's complicity in allowing the attack to happen remains a question yet to be answered.

Anniebach Fri 19-Sept-25 10:41:49

I post my views and opinions as do all who post here

And Hamas will be granted a peace prize

How very silly

Gfplux Fri 19-Sept-25 10:33:49

We are all complicit it this Genocide. However only the IDF soldiers and the Israeli politicians with be put on trial.

Where would the trial for war crimes take place? Nuremberg?

As most of Hamas have been killed perhaps the few remaining members will have their trial held separately.

Babs03 Fri 19-Sept-25 10:30:27

And Hamas will be granted a peace prize

Please drop the ‘you hate that the Israeli government are committing genocide so must be supporting Hamas’ line Annie.
It really isn’t like that and I think you know this.

Anniebach Fri 19-Sept-25 10:24:30

Whitewavemark2 Fri 19-Sept-25 10:17:45

Even if there is a change of leadership in Israel now, they will have a huge amount of work to convince the world that they are no longer a pariah state, and history will demand that the truth is told about the whole period which will not be kind to Israel.

The atrocities by Hamas that started this conflict are no justification for this Genocide Oreo and that isn't why Trump's supporting Netanhyahu. It's all about making $$$$$$'s.

Trump was involved in 2023?, Netanyahu didn’t start the war to avoid being prosecuted?
