Well Oreo my Quaker friend D among others was arrested in London. She is a Samaritan, at 72 on her bike everywhere - Climate Change activist too.

You still say she is "irresponsible? They interrupted nothing, they just carried Palestine Action posters.

Demonstrating because one doesn’t agree with a law , breaking the law, wasting police time are not responsible actions

AGAA4 Sun 28-Sept-25 16:44:02

The UK components are sent to manufacturers in other countries not directly to Israel so not easy to stop in a wider programme.

Wyllow3 Sun 28-Sept-25 16:16:50

I dont understand the problem here.

All the government has to do is re-issue the licence to Forged Solutions of Sheffield to exclude sending parts to Israel (or other nations in a similar position

Its right and proper surely to protect our own defence by issuing the licences but excluding destinations we consider hostile?

AGAA4 Sun 28-Sept-25 15:24:35

Pulling out of the defence programme would put our country at risk. It could have wider effects on NATO. Every country has to put the welfare of its own citizens first.

I know the UK government is looking into this but not sure if it would compromise our own safety.
I believe Israel can get all the arms it needs even if the UK stop supply.

Wyllow3 Sun 28-Sept-25 14:35:40

It won't have the effect not "I" won't have the effect.

Wyllow3 Sun 28-Sept-25 14:34:26

Allira it would be irresponsible if whole systems to everyone was targeted, but it is not. It's the parts sent to Israel or used in planes sold to Israel as part of the overall deal. If it means reneging on a deal with them, so be it.

It was part of one of the T's and C's Starmer set as regards giving Palestine Statehood.

As such I take your point, but I wont have the effect you are rightly concerned about.

F35 jets are part of the UK's defence system.
Trying to interrupt the supply chain of our own defence system is irresponsible at a time of such tensions in the world.

It’s irresponsible and will achieve nothing for Palestinians.I expect Palestine Action will be there so try not to get arrested!

Why oh why - I asked other thread - is it the negative outlook?

I think it's only components of the F35 planes being sent to Israel for which they may have already paid.
I'm not sure marches will make any difference to this.

Please remember the victims of 7th October 2023 and the Hostages in captivity since 7th October 2023

Nobody is forgetting them, I think I speak for everyone on here when I say that their suffering is not being dismissed when moved by the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza. No act of inhumanity should ever be forgotten or weighed against other acts of inhumanity.

Do you not recall that a while ago I gave the web address and full details of the UK organisation supporting them?

None of us have forgotten them.
Where is the evidence that we have?

Its too far for me to go to the F35 demo but am hoping to get to the big central London march to Downing St on 11th October.

Its at the firm which helps to supply arms to Israel

Be there is you can, I'm just waiting on news for a lift to get there.

Any problems in Gaza caused by Hamas

AGAA4 Sat 27-Sept-25 16:48:29

So Israel have done most of the killing and flattening of buildings in Gaza as the thugs aren't capable. Nor have they caused the famine.

Gangs or clans in Gaza are street fighters with guns or knives, not a first world army with bombs and other state of the art weaponry as well as a huge army.
They can complicate things on the ground but are not capable of the atrocities the IDF are committing.

So?

I don't think anything will stop Netanyahu going for his goal. He wants Palestinians out of Gaza and will carry on with the brutal plan.

I agree.
And Netanyahu’s meeting with Trump on Monday will result with Trump announcing that he believes ‘great things have been achieved’ whilst Bibi smirks at the useful idiot knowing that he can just carry on regardless.

As Israel is the occupying and controlling force in Gaza it is they who have lost control there and allowed anti Hamas gangs to run riot.

Sigh!
The IDF have turned a blind eye to the goings on of the clans as it suits them to have them against hamas.Anything that weakens hamas being a good thing.
