So convenient to blame all the problems in Gaza on the gangs. Then you don't have to face the reality of what Israel is doing.
You obviously don't know what has been said by members of the Knesset about cleansing Gaza of all Palestinians. You don't seem to know that members of the Knesset are wanted for war crimes and two at least are convicted of crimes.
To put all the killing, injuries and starvation down to clans is very naive.

But predictable.

You could say equally predictable to blame the IDF for all shootings and thieving aid and anything else.
I know full well what Israel are doing, going full tilt after hamas and it’s supporters and hoping to get to the hostages. There’s a small chance that isolating hamas in Gaza City will bring about their release as I bet their numbers are dwindling in spite of the spurious boast of 5,000 fighters.
On the ultra right wing of the Knesset there are some very unpleasant people but they won’t get their way.
It really isn’t me that’s naive.

Which will make any interim governments task extraordinarily difficult.

In every conflict when there is a vacuum, in this instance caused by the destruction of Hamas, anarchy tends to fill it, it happened in Iraq and Syria, which can destabilise a region for a very long time. Harder to fight than a recognised terrorist group. So Netanyahu has created an even bigger problem, not just for him but the poor innocent civilians in Gaza. And chances of getting the hostages back have just gone to zero.
He definitely isn’t a contender for the Noble Peace Prize.

As Israel is the occupying and controlling force in Gaza it is they who have lost control there and allowed anti Hamas gangs to run riot.

What is happening in Gaza City now is nothing new, nor unique. This happens all over the world when chaos and violence is the order of the day.

Whole books and films have been devoted to it.

On this point we can actually agree.

If Netanyahu is supplying these gangs with arms them any injuries from them is his doing too.

He isn’t supplying them! They have guns anyway like people in many countries and they buy them. There isn’t a lack of money in Gaza for some.

AGAA4 it may not sit well with your mindset on Gaza but these clans and criminal gangs don’t get together for tea parties. It’s the Wild West in Gaza.

You don't know that a lot of the gunfire and injuries came from the gangs. Most of the deaths and injuries have been from bombs dropped by the IDF Oreo.

There have been very many injuries from guns or haven’t you been reading the news?
The report on radio 4 I heard said all these gangs and clans are armed and regularly clash in the streets.

I feel so very sad for so many liberal Israelis.

The world is turning its back on so much of Israel. Whilst there is very little former sanctions as yet, - they are to come - I read that the Horizon programme research and development, of which Israel was a member is quietly turning away from any contribution by Israel.

Israeli legitimacy is being gradually eroded and companies are turning away from investment and cooperation with Israeli companies.

Many in the sporting world and entertainment are calling for a complete boycott. Including the film industry.

Of course this will simply push the hard right and supporters of Likud into doubling down, and will unfortunately have the effect of strengthening support of the most far right wing government has ever had.

It will be a disaster if Likud retains power in the upcoming election.

Yes I remember you sharing it Oreo , thank you

Oreo Sat 27-Sept-25 08:57:06

I wrote on here early this year about the armed family clans taking over from hamas, after reading about it and hearing a radio 4 programme.A lot of the gunfire and injuries came from these clans clashing with each other and with hamas. Then there are criminal gangs as well. All these gangs have been behind the thieving of aid and selling it on .
It’s hamas’s last stand in Gaza City.

AGAA4 Sat 27-Sept-25 08:56:45

One of the gang leaders has alleged that Netanyahu has supplied them with arms to fight Hamas.
At one time Netanyahu supplied Hamas with arms too and that didn't turn out well.

Babs03 Sat 27-Sept-25 08:56:13

Am not surprised is chaos, random young men with vengeance uppermost in their minds and made mad with grief are probably ready to fight anyone even their own people.
It must be hell on earth.

foxie48 Sat 27-Sept-25 08:47:00

What an absolute mess!

AGAA4 Sat 27-Sept-25 08:43:27

Hamas have admitted that they have lost control of most of Gaza. Armed gangs 'clans' are taking over and rival Hamas.
Hamas are probably ready for a peace deal as they have no chance of surviving now.

foxie48 Sat 27-Sept-25 08:30:43

Hamas has agreed to release all the hostages as part of the proposed peace deal. let's see how Netanyahu responds. tbh I think he will refuse it!

Anniebach Sat 27-Sept-25 04:13:47

And a Palestinian criticising an Israeli? why ?

Anniebach Sat 27-Sept-25 04:12:14

There was swift condemnation of Netanyahu speech today in Israel from Yair Lapid leader of the opposition.

That’s unbelievable, wouldn’t happen in this country , leader of Labour Party wouldn’t criticise a Tory prime minister , shocking

Whitewavemark2 Sat 27-Sept-25 01:20:27

Shortly after Netanyahu’s warmongering speech ended, Trump announced that he thought he had a deal.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 27-Sept-25 01:18:33

The leader of the PA - Mahmoud Abbas said in his speech, and in complete contrast to Netanyahu’s bellicose speech, - thst he was ready to work with world leaders to bring about a peace plan for Israel and the Palestinians.
