Please explain what you think coming out of the ECHR means and the consequences for 70 million people in this country.

How easy it is to say they are sound bites and slogans! It seems to me that this Labour government is full of sound bites and slogans.

I am not going to write an essay on expanding anything but it seems that coming out of the ECHR is the only way of stopping the gravy train of human rights lawyers which we all read about in the papers.

Like another poster has stated, I also voted for Brexit and am also a Reform voter as I totally agree with their proposals.

I would be interested in having an explanation of which ones you disagree with and why.

Does anyone know of another forum for older people? This one appears to be being swamped. Obviously, they have the right to join but there must be somewhere more pleasant, where debate can still take place.

Come out of the ECHR
Freeze on non essential immigration
Tax cuts for small businesses
Scrapping targets for net zero
National plan for sustainable system of support for older people

Ban transgender ideology in schools
Tax relief on private school fees
Extra money for NHS
Scrap the rest of HS2 rail link
Raise stamp duty threshold to £750,000.

These are such sensible policies, I find it hard to know what can possibly be objections to these proposals. The funding would presumably come for the NHS from cutting wasteful public expenditure and the Blob etc.

Anyway if Reform do get voted in, it will be interesting to see how events unfold and how doable it all will be. Should be interesting times. It feels like it is time for a change.

Exactly this Maremia. I want everyone to see the damage that the US version of Reform is doing there before they decide to vote for change as a protest. If they do they will get change but they won't like it. It'll be even worse that Brexit, and heaven help people of different races.

Why do people believe that Farage is the answer ? Farage has frequently been associated with Russian influence. One of his ex-politicians has admitted taking bribes from a Russian asset. There is a photograph of Farage with the wife of said Russian.

What sort of explanation of an extremist leaders policies is "plenty" Teasle2. Is it that you dont actually know his policies or that he has none?

Of course, we can always look to his boss in the USA to see what policies he has inflicted on that benighted country. So far he has acted illegally and unconstitutionally in ways that weaken their democratic institutions, slow down their economy, roll back protections for public health and the environment, and put health care and Social Security benefits at risk for millions of Americans.

Is this really what you think would be better than you have at the moment? Someone out to rule this country as an oligarch, making the regular worker poorer and the rich richer? What use do you think he will have for pensioners who, just by their numbers, have become very expensive?

The transactional rule of Trump means that if you are not giving the rich anything you are not worth anything to him. Your vote is worth something at the moment but that value will disappear. Pensioner's actual cost more in financial support and health costs.

Please explain why Farage would be any different? I would like to feel as complacent about the future as the Farage supporters do.

Plenty is the answer, at any rate they cant possibly be worse than what has gone before, Tories not excluded. I do wonder why, given the mess we are in, that the brightest and best from across the parties dont come together to attempt to sort it all out.

That is the daftest thing I have read on here today, and there is plenty of rubbish being written.

I suggest you read "Julius Caesar" and understand the context and purpose of that speech, and also its result, before you make any more inane comparisons.

The truth of the matter is, that many British people are extremely worried about where our country is heading. Farage does not come across as a nice person (he supports hunting, which I abhor) but, right now, he's the only hope we have to bring us back from the brink of destruction.
As for the swans. I live near a canal and it is common knowledge that ducks, swans and geese are taken, presumably to be eaten. I myself have seen ducks eggs being taken from the nest by a non-white man.

I think Billy Bragg showed just how ridiculous Farage is. Farage said he believed that Saria law was coming to Britian because he'd been told by a Muslim taxi driver. He was willing to believe this man but didn't believe the scientific establishment.
