Not just Hamas Anniebach. There are some horrible people in the world today as today's killing in Manchester proves.

You. Spoke of some MP’s in Israeli elected government, I quoted Hamas who has declared they will murder of Jews in their Covenant , Hamas is the elected government of Gaza

To answer your question Oreo yes I do think there are those in the Knesset who are worrying. One way or another Hamas are finished for now.
There are members of the Knesset who have rejected the peace plan, who have always wanted Gaza 'cleansed' of Palestinians.

Hamas wants to free the planet of Jews

Oreo Thu 02-Oct-25 12:18:10

They aren’t worse than hamas tho!
And the very right wing in the Knesset will be sidelined in this peace plan.

It's the Fat Cats in the Knesset that are most worrying. Netanyahu has already reneged on the agreement by saying that the IDF will remain in parts of Gaza if a peace deal is acceptable to Hamas.
Meanwhile in Gaza city the IDF have said they will treat anyone who is still there as terrorists and they will be killed. So those who have been unable to leave the elderly, sick and the family who won't leave them will be fair game to the IDF.

So to be clear…you think the politicians in the Knesset are the most worrying, more so than any of hamas? Are you really saying that?

Well, the far right totally reject the plan, and want a complete ethnic cleansing of Palestine so the state of Israel stretches from the river Jordan to the Mediterranean

Quite worrying for peace I think.

With regard to Hamas - once they agree to the plan, in theory they will become redundant as far as Gaza is concerned.

The question is , who takes over. Logically and I think the plan supports this it will be the PA, but for reasons known only to himself Netanyahu completely rejects them.

Oreo Thu 02-Oct-25 10:59:18

The plan included a very gradual withdrawal of the IDF, they were never going to just disappear from Gaza, that wouldn’t work at all.

I wouldn’t trust a Trump/Blair partnership to run a bath…

In the absence of anything else?

I think that the French and Arab states had also agreed a plan, but they do not have Israeli and USA involvement. So that is a no goer.

The French have signed up to the Trump plan now though.

Annie I think you need to read the 20 point plan and read a transcript of what Netanyahu said in his speech. I've done both and it has given me a much better understanding of the situation. You could also listen to the Rest is politics podcast entitled, Trump has a new plan for "eternal peace" in Gaza, free to listen to. I won't supply links as you have already said that you don't follow links posted on GN but it's very easy to find.

I have read the 20 point plan ,

Annie It's not about what they would gain, it's about what they would lose. Netanyahu has said very plainly to Israeli's that there will be no two state solution and the IDF will stay in most of Gaza, how can Hamas agree to a peace deal with Netanyahu saying that publicly? They can't!

They will still be the government if/there is a two state solution, so let the war continue

No not their funeral. - Hamas leaders sitting in Doha are not on the firing line in Gaza. Unless of course Israel tries to take them out again in Doha which is unlikely after the last apology by Israel to Qatar. Oreo

The hamas in Gaza City are the ones to watch not the fat cat bosses in Doha.

Anniebach Thu 02-Oct-25 07:57:03

What would they gain by ignoring the deal ?

foxie48 Thu 02-Oct-25 07:50:57

I doubt thatAnnie their organisation has been decimated and that's something to be celebrated and the Palestinian people are desperate for peace and want a normal life so their children can go to school and be fed properly etc. Hamas are being offered a peace deal that is almost impossible for them to accept but I doubt they want to continue fighting. As I've said in my previous post I believe that this deal is designed to give Trump a way out and Israel the green light to continue their slaughter of Palestinians, why would they agree to it?

Anniebach Wed 01-Oct-25 21:38:28

Hamas must feel so in control with the world waiting their decisions

It will be the Hamas leaders in Qatar who are considering this plan and it is they who should have been consulted when drawing it up.

No good reason those swine should be consulted about anything.
They haven’t much time to decide so they’d better be quick.
It will literally be their funeral otherwise.

Anniebach Wed 01-Oct-25 19:43:35

So much depends on Hamas

Whitewavemark2 Wed 01-Oct-25 19:42:01

David49

The only way forward is for Hamas to disband and disarm, and a civilian authority with the power to control security established
Both sides need to feel, secure and an Arab force from neighbouring countries paid for by the US sounds a very good, starting point to rebuild Gaza.

That has already been decided in the framework.

But nothing will happen if the peace plan isn’t accepted.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 01-Oct-25 19:36:44

Europe officially welcomes the peace plan.
