I would guess that they are alongside many thousands of Palestinian remains under the rubble - how are they going to be found?

Doubt they offered refuge to the ordinary citizens of Gaza, they were left as human shields…

He won’t go against the agreement but think that hamas will try to.
Hopefully the gangsters and hamas will eliminate each other and clear the way for a peaceful governing body.

I think it's unlikely that the deal will last but I think Netanyahu is as likely to break it as Hamas

I have been watching with delight as the hostages greet their families.

I am now watching in utter horror at the tortured bodies of the Palestinian hostages.

What on earth makes people who do such appalling things tick? How on earth can the torturers face their family on their return home each day.

Ask yourself why Hamas hasn’t released any female hostages…

Oh my gosh, your comment really made me feel sick imagining their plight.

The suffering of the children in bombed Gaza is distressing, too.

It's too sad to be making comparisons or to be taking "sides".

Haven't been watching all of the footage, so missed witnessing that.

Some of them looked pretty bad, no homes to go to, no state of the art hospitals to treat them. Some being illegally deported from their own country. It seems a very unequal deal and can only store up resentment for the future. Very shortsighted.

@grannygravy13 the female hostages were priority in the earlier release of hostages. Only men left so only men released.

Hamas are a terrorist group which comes with terrorist behaviour.

Israel is a supposedly civilised western democracy.

We must be very thankful for our ECHR.

Jordan is part of what Netanyahu wants for Greater Israel.

It would comprise:
- Jordan, some parts of Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, most of Syria, a bit of Turkey and Western Iraq - as well as Jordan.

The logic behind it would be the same as is quoted for having most of Palestine .....

Indeed Maremia - "so many sides to this story" and it does not help when people on the side most approved of in Britain only want their side to be heard and keep censoring/deleting other takes on this issue and trying to overlook Britain is supposed to be a democracy and with multiple viewpoints.

All sides need to be heard equally - those taking the British government approved side and those of us on the side of the Palestinians (as most of the world is). As far as I can see it's just Britain, America and Australia that are on one side and the rest of the world is on the other one.

For instance I read the "Daily Mail" over the weekend for the British viewpoint and understood why they featured every single one of the hostages taken - but did not understand why, apparently, every single one of them was apparently "superhuman wonderful". What I did not see in the paper was the equivalent for any of the Palestinians let out of prison finally (some of whom had been in years) - as apparently none of them were "superhuman wonderful". That didn't come over as even-handed - on the one hand the hostages, on the other hand the Palestinian prisoners.

So many sides to this story.

I understand the "bit by tiny bit by tiny bit" strategy - because that is what I've had on my present house from neighbours here. There are several of them and they have been working together - with "I'll try and nick this little bit....and you try and nick another little bit and I'll try to nick the biggest bit".

It's a form of "softly softly catchee monkey" to try and take someone else's land that you want for yourself. It is a tactic that gets used from the micro level (neighbours) to the macro level (a country or would-be country as in this case) - and there is always an excuse (which seems to be along the lines of "It's ours really" - even though it isn't).

Hence my sympathies with the Palestinians - besides my ex-military father telling me about what his stint in Palestine in the 1940's was like - and he was clearly mentally on their side.

I am astounded that CariadAgain is making this awful conflict all about herself - trivialising a highly volatile international situation.
No it is NOT the same thing.

I think there will be significant splits after the last few years. All very complex with their PR system.

Just hope the people of Israel make a better choice next time.

Yes they both live on the West Bank and have too much power over Netanyahu. They are the ones who want the war to continue.

Found another video which explains the "Greater Israel" idea very well. Am just thankful I wasnt eating my dinner whilst the segment with that awful settler woman came up - I don't really want indigestion - as I feel pretty sick every time I spot her face and self-justifications and do feel like throwing something through the screen at her. She's awful....awful....awful...

There will be elections in another year, coalitions change.The situation in the West Bank could change then too.At the moment it’s all about Gaza quite rightly.

The problem is AGA the illegal settlers are the ones who keep Smotrich and Ben-Givr in power and it's Smotrich and Ben-Givr who keep Netanyahu in power.

Those Israelis are there illegally so should be evicted. For this peace plan to work there should be no illegal settlers in that area.

That concerns me very greatly. The Gaza situation was absolutely appalling- but so it is in the West Bank. It has to be stopped by international intervention as well.

How many Palestinians in the West Bank are being forced out, often violence used - or are we to wait for the arrival of terrorists there too before the world sits up and notices
