Which Palestine do you mean? As you call Israel and the West Bank and Gaza all Palestine it’s hard to know.
Presumably this man is really an Israeli Jew. Just say it.

Like a lot of people I do refer to all of Palestine as Palestine.

It was all very confusing way back when I thought "How can there be two countries in the exact same position - one called Palestine and one called Israel?" Until I clicked it is all Palestine still.

That is probably what he would call himself - and there is absolutely nothing on his FB page saying words to the effect of "Sorry - all - this is all nothing to do with me. I don't agree with it".

Off to check out the Facebook page of the man concerned to see if he's distancing himself from them - or saying nothing about this.
🤔

Considering just how bad things are in Palestine now - I think there really is only one conclusion one can come to re people that live/have lived there if they don't visibly disapprove of what's happening there.

You cannot judge people by what they do or do not post on Facebook!

Well I guess They would put it as "No more pussyfooting around..." but They seem to be grabbing for all of the West Bank right now too - currently stopping Palestinians getting to their olive trees to harvest them and upping the attack level by settlers and grabbing at Syria again.

I have come to the conclusion by now that it's necessary for anyone with any connection to them to make it plain in about the first one or two sentences they utter "They're nothing to do with me. I thoroughly disapprove of them" - as I suppose we can only think people agree with them or at least are not bothered unless they state straight off they're nothing to do with them/disapprove.

It's not an easy situation to deal with and I can think of a man from Palestine (but he is not Palestinian) and his British wife in the circle I'm in and I'd want to know his views on all this before being able to decide on whats what. I couldnt feel easy in my mind going to any events he organises unless he distances himself from what is going on there. If he doesnt distance himself - then I wouldnt feel right hearing him NOT disapprove of them....

Meanwhile the ICJ have said Israel are obliged to allow aid into to Gaza.
There is a 'fatal combination' of disease, injuries and famine the WHO says.
The problems there will carry on for generations.
This alone condemns Netanyahu without all the very strange accusations about Epstein. Just muddies the waters.

I imagine that the security if the aid workers is the problem at the moment.

Hamas and other gangs are in control and will hoover up aid and medical supplies.

Aid has to be for all, not just those with weapons and who are stronger.

It was also mentioned on TRIP ( and I must admit that I didn’t give it my full attention) is that there are warring factions in Gaza that Netanyahu was supporting financially and they were taking some of the aid ( if someone has listened to it properly I’m happy to be corrected on this).

Unfortunately, at the same time, he denied the Genocide.

I think it comes with more weight because Jared Kushner is Jewish. Interestingly, Ivanka converted to Judaism before they married and that is quite a difficult thing to do, it takes real commitment but they obviously wanted their children to be brought up is the Jewish faith.

Maremia Thu 23-Oct-25 16:38:01

It's a dreadful indictment, but I am glad that it was Kushner who said it.

It was mentioned on TRIP that the devastation of Gaza has to be seen to be believed, one person even likening it to the aftermath of a nuclear bomb. No wonder Israel didn’t want journalists there.

That was Kushner.

It must be the worst thing and something that will stay with you all your life.

Those poor people

Maremia Thu 23-Oct-25 14:52:11

Just too much evidence came along.

CariadAgain Thu 23-Oct-25 14:33:12

Maremia - but you've learnt since. You're keeping an open mind and making up your mind for yourself and wanting to see the evidence. So - good for you for that.

Maremia Thu 23-Oct-25 14:26:20

And yet, more than one million are supposed to be able to live there, in that wilderness.
What used to be the claim, 'We took a desert and made it bloom'.
I actually bought into that, back in the day.

So the illegal total annexation of the West Bank has begun its inevitable process.

The days of democracy, the rule of law and international oversight has ended.

The US has said they are against this as it would interfere with peace plans.

One positive thought for the day - I gather they're trying to forcibly enlist the ultra-orthodox Jews into their army now.

It is not going down well - cue for watching a riot going on - with them using water cannons/the lot.

I guess they want extra troops in their army (hmmm...sign they're struggling then maybe?). Followed by thinking "This is probably not their worlds wisest move - to try and forcibly enlist a whole group of people that are against you...and I expect they can manage to find one or two ways to sabotage that army" .......

Allira Thu 23-Oct-25 12:15:35

I've seen enough YouTube videos since 2020 (on various topics) that I think I've learnt to filter out and to recognise a personal viewpoint v. someone who is trying to get out the truth the mainstream news/newspaper often don't publish.

You must be far more astute than millions, then, CariadAgain.

I'm sorry, but AI is a lot cleverer than you think.

Maremia Thu 23-Oct-25 11:26:59

Did anyone see how Vance got on? Missed all the reports. Just saw headlines.

Anniebach Thu 23-Oct-25 11:12:40

Why is alleged actions by Israel since the 1940’s spoken of but I am told the Holocaust has no connection with present happenings ?

Maremia Thu 23-Oct-25 10:22:54

Did the Vance visit produce anything useful?

AGAA4 Thu 23-Oct-25 10:07:31

The problem at the moment is that Israel have halted aid as a rebuke for what they say was Hamas breaking ceasefire. Hamas says Israel breached the ceasefire agreement

Also as Israel have bombed the roads it makes it difficult for aid workers to get the limited supplies allowed through.

CariadAgain Thu 23-Oct-25 09:57:27

When it became clearer on the name - I have accordingly amended it.

In reverse - and I'm currently studying the psychology as to why they've been waging war - via their army and their settlers for longer than many of us have been alive and that would certainly help clear things up a lot if there was more information on why they are doing this/have been doing this since the 1940s. Shocking - but the info. is out there and I'm not going to quote it...just in case...but it is out there to find.

Anniebach Thu 23-Oct-25 09:43:19

Accusations that Netanyahu raped a women and giving the wrong name of the accuser has certainly muddled the waters
