Of course other posters can comment - it was very obvious who would do so. I don't 'wish to retreat', and I did not start it. The comment about being silenced and having a yellow card started it. That comment has been made several times before.

I could have stayed silent and let the dig pass, but I decided that I also have a right to express an opinion. Maybe you disagree, but it's ok - I won't report your posts which I see as personal attacks not in the spirit of GN.

Of course you have a right to express an opinion.

Unfortunately , as I see it, not only Grans but also the admin disallow certain opinions. Those opinions may be deemed racist or whatever.

Donald Trump himself should be welcome to write his opinions on Gnet . And Grans should be encouraged to be as aggressive as they like towards Trump's opinions.

On this thread in particular, there are those who want to be almost aggressive to those that don't hold their views. It's a discussion thread, people have differing views.

Be as disruptive as we like of repugnant views.

Therein lies the difference.

I prefer to be open about what (or whom) I am criticising, than to make oblique references that I know will be recognised by the person I am digging at, but can then be denied. Both are personal, but talking directly to one person is more honest, IMO.

And I was asking about the difference between you commenting on my post (rather than walking away as you suggest I should do), and my doing the same, not on the content of anyone's posts.

This is what happens when people express opinions that Some People don't like, though - it can result in cross-questioning and accusations by their friends. It is why a head of steam often builds up and posters come on to say it takes courage to post, and many don't understand what they mean (and others claim not to). Being upfront and saying 'this is what I am talking about' removes that rather unsettling atmosphere where nobody is very sure if they are being discussed or not, and people can hide behind 'I wasn't being personal'.

Why is because I am sick of hearing about how hard done by escaped feels over that thread. It is not usually mentioned specifically, but the digs and comments about how she was 'told off' and get a yellow card for simply not being intellectually appropriate or whatever are passive aggressive and tiresome. Ion my opinion, to which I am as entitled as she is to make her point, and you are to call me out about expressing it.

Seriously, it comes up time and time again. I fully understand that escaped feels aggrieved about being suspended, and maybe she has a point (I don't know who reported her or over which post), but the constant rehashing of it under the radar is (again IMO) as uncalled for as (in your opinion) was my post.

I loved this show, it made me laugh out loud. I don’t find “Rachel from Accounts” in the least bit sexist, we have to hold onto our SoH in these dark times.

I did wonder at the time Doodledog if you were related to Angela Rayner.
Apart from a couple of early posts about Rayner’s character, which was very wrong, the rest were purely on the style of the trouser suit.
Late in the thread some posters including me ( as the thread had become boring, there’s only so much you can say about style) were amused by comments from others.
It annoyed you for some reason.

I really think the green trouser suit thread has left you seething for a very long time for no good reason at all.Everyone could and did have their say on that thread, regardless of any amusing posts on it, so your grudge seems very strange.
