Another stabbing by an immigrant. When do we wake up and smell the coffee?

How will you look at knife crime if you won't acknowledge the issue, black males feature at a very high rate in knife crime figures, as perpetrators and victims. My guess is the link will be fatherlessness and gangs. Unless we are able to talk about this, then we can't look at the problem.

Crimes happen and are committed by every demographic

I don't think that deporting immigrants would change very much there. Crime did not arrive on a boat.

I think you're the one that's missing the point Wyllow3. Obviously crimes are committed by members of the public who are born and bred here - always have, always will be.

BUT - and this IS the point

Why do we continue to provide shelter to asylum seekers and illegal immigrants who break our laws once they're here? Utter madness. We should insist that shelter here is provided ON CONDITION they behave themselves and abide by OUR LAWS and OUR CUSTOMS. In other words, one strike and you're out.

Well, if you look at the crimes in my references, most were worst than the one where we had to "smell the coffee", but were only locally or local BBC reported, not in the nationals, including the DM, so point made, surely?

I looked on the Get Licensed site, which confirms that nearly 50,000 serious knife crimes were recorded in England from July 2023 to June 2024, so I’d agree that it is a big problem. However your chance of being stabbed by a migrant rather than by a UK citizen is very small indeed. Reporting in the media distorts the true picture.

There are very many stabbings in this country, perpetrated by gang members, drunks in numerous brawls after throwing out time at the weekend, and ‘usually’ male partners when committing domestic violence, am sure there are other examples.
This isn’t the monopoly of immigrants, far from it, but of course stabbings committed by immigrants, which are horrendous of course, make the headlines because the media knows its audience.
People are the same the world over.

The Afghan man wasn't someone who arrived by small boat. I don't know his background but I presume he was an immigrant who sought and gained asylum in the UK fleeing from a Taliban controlled tyranny. I would do the same.
This stabbing was horrendous but it's no reason to judge all other immigrants now or in the future.
Have you seen knife crime figures lately? It is our very own young men who make up both perpetrators and victims.

Do you honestly think that would be a deterrent? The US has the death penalty and many times more homicides than the UK.
