Will the Israeli government be investigated for war crimes?

Hamas is a terrorist organisation, I believe that those who masterminded the Oct 7th attacks are now dead. As for the rest they will probably do what terrorists do in these situations, go to ground in exile and eventually be found and executed by Mossad. So they probs won’t get the chance to face a court of law.
Israel are a first world democratic country supported by the US and until recently allied with many western countries. So Netanyahu and his cronies should face prosecution for war crimes, because the standard for first world governments morally should be higher than the standard for rogue governments and terrorists.

....not to mention Francesco is having various personal financial pressures put on her to try and blackmail her into stopping doing her job. Her own personal life is being got at - and yet she carries on. She's on my list of "I'd have her to dinner and lay on a darn good meal for her".

Yes, they should be prosecuted, of course. any attempt is most valid, targeting Netanyahu and other members of his regime, and it being clear its not "Israeli people": being prosecuted but a regime

War crimes have been committed in Gaza by Israel but whether anyone will be prosecuted is doubtful.
I would like to think that those responsible for so many deaths and razing Gaza to the ground will be prosecuted but these evil people seem to evade justice.
The stain on Israel will be very hard to wash away.

Israel many never answer in the courts for the crimes it has committed, but it answers to world opinion.

It will never recover the standing it once had with many millions of people and states.

I very much doubt it.
Israel has had a hall pass with regard to its behaviour for decades so why start now?

Amnesty International's recent funding appeal was for just that. To collect money to pay for criminal, legal, forensic investigations into the alleged war crimes.
Because of the volume of potential 'evidence', not every crime will be investigated, and not every criminal will be brought to justice.
Strategic choices will have to be made.
But the process has begun.
