Hey, As an American,I can tell you that New York is extremely diverse and over populated, particularly in the City, where most of the minorities live. They have an over abundance of aliens, illegal and not and they bring their lower standards with them. Most have no money and either become parasites of the City. Most do not work and feed off of the social programs the city offers to its immigrants. The problem with New York is the immigrant and homeless issue. Many make their way to the streets to either hustle by selling things from the sidewalks or to find a place to sleep when they can’t get into a shelter. These people survive day to day and are far different than those Americans that work and contribute to the economy and actually are willing and happy to obey the law. If you visit New York City, you will be overwhelmed by the masses of people in the streets just coming and going. New Yorkers are used to this and just have come to accept much of it. Until they control poverty, homelessness, illegal aliens and gang crime, not much will get better regardless of who is mayor. If you want to live in a different non city region, go to the Midwest. It would probably be better for some of these alien settlers to go there. It is easier to settle someplace where there is better control of the social services available to them and the cost of living is much less than Nee York. As for the new Mayor, he will be better than Cuomo who already had his day and abused his power and was forced to resign in disgrace. Let the new Mayor have a chance at bringing his strong moral beliefs with him into this job. I think he is a little young for this big role but he will learn and absorb as he goes. You need to support and encourage his growth while he try’s his best to fix the problems. He has youth and energy and big dreams. I’d rather go with that than someone who has run out of steam and new ideas like Cuomo.
