And so they should! Had any other TV channel done this they would have been closed down. The truth will out.

The BBC have got away with so much over the years and have always been biased and many would say, corrupt. Martin Bashir, Jimmy Savile, Huw Edwards etc

Listening various commentary.

“Trump hates the BBC, not for what it gets wrong, but for what it gets right”

Reason?

Because the BBC is the most trusted news channel in the USA.

JacquiG Mon 10-Nov-25 14:02:39

Remember that the BBC did this with footage of the Orgreave riots. The videos were edited and presented to make it look as it the miners attacked the police first, when it was the police who attacked first. So they have history. Very sneaky.

It was unforgivable of them to push out the LGBT nonsense and to children, and the reporting of the Israel/Gaza issue has been reprehensible.
Good idea GrannyGravy13. A link to the actual speech as made.

So two resignations !! There is more to this than we are being told especially given that Boris got his mates on the Board!
I am not defending what has gone on as I want the BBC to be trustworthy ! However if we are gunning for them let’s go for other media areas which swing news items to suit their audiences and narratives !

1. What do you mean by "LGBT nonsense"?

This could mean virtually anything! an example, perhaps?

2.
In what ways has the Israel Gaza issue news reporting by The BBC "biased"?

Making assertions with no evidence at all just doesn't cut it in any serious conversation.

Menopauselbitch Mon 10-Nov-25 14:11:18

I’ll bet all the Trump haters are sobbing their hearts out. Most of what they are told about Trump is bullshit.

Geordiegirl1 Mon 10-Nov-25 14:16:30

Whoever did the editing should be sacked. The entire BBC has just rolled over like a pathetic dog.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 10-Nov-25 14:27:10

So not unexpectedly the BBC is being threatened with legal action by Trump.

He will bend the BBC to his will, or get rid of it.

kircubbin2000 Mon 10-Nov-25 14:27:22

Apparently a group of younger lgb types have been behind the trans nonsense and the disapproval of things they disagree with. They advised that including JKRowling could be problematical.
Many quiz shows now include a trans man or drag person. One of them was included in a list of women of the year.

I can't think of another news station that is so scrutinised as the BBC. In this case rightly so but is GB News scrutinised at all?
I doubt it.
Get the political appointees off the board of the BBC, get the journalists back on the board before they destroy one of the most respected institutions in the world - or it was before politicians decided to destroy it from within.

My impression of Trump comes from listening to what he actually says not what I hear from other sources.

I suppose that is the whole point, Maybee - can we trust that anything in the media on any news channel is really true or are we being subtly brainwashed, if we can't trust the good old BBC?

Mind you, it does take skill to make Trump sound worse than he actually is.

orly Mon 10-Nov-25 15:02:59

I see the BBC has stopped showing the Clive Myrie virtue signalling "verify" video. If only they would do the same with the "some kids carry more than others" video which I'm sure only encourages more to jump on the "menkul elf" bandwagon

madeleine45 Mon 10-Nov-25 15:31:38

Yes the BBC have done some things wrong and are apologising for the misleading details. They are no saints, who is?? However whatever he tries to scrub out Trump actually did want people to attack the government centre of his country. I saw the whole orginal thing and was appalled that someone who is supposed to be an important politician, inciting people to go against the law, just when it does not suit him.

I have lived and travelled abroad for many years, and can tell you from my own experience, that the BBC were the most trusted source for information in the world. I actually had someone in a conflict situation say to me, that they did not trust their own countries radio to tell the truth and were waiting for the BBC world news to hear what could be believed in that situation. The strange thing was that the following day, I had someone on the other side say exactly the same thing. So it is sad if this trust has been lost in any way by their actions, but whilst I am not naive and would always be aware of the possibilities of bias, the bbc are definitely my preferred people to hear an overall view of a world situation. Also whilst this situation is going on, you are aware of many people hoping to put the BBC out of business only so that they can take over!! Everyone has a certain bias, and part of being a thinking adult , is to recognise that you do have some bias in one way or another. Overall I try to find out information from various different sources and then make up my mind after considering the wider picture. But for myself , in difficult situations, when deciding if it was safe to be somewhere, or what the possibilities were of difficulties with weather or governments , the BBC were my go to listening and the decisions I have made partly based on their information has not let me down.

Nik1ta Mon 10-Nov-25 15:37:22

I had to laugh at this, accusing the op of bias in a post about bbc bias!

keepingquiet Mon 10-Nov-25 15:38:07

Does OP really think other channels don't do this?

Apparently the young musical types on the editorial team didn’t realise about the risks of Vile man Vylan. They need to do better.

Oh great. My hard earned licence fee will be making the orange one even richer. Thank you BBC!

That’s the unintentionally funniest original post I’ve seen for ages.

I can't laugh, the performative outrage is pathetic and we all know why. All the usual suspects clutching their pearls and trying to more outraged than their mates.. If there was ever a tiny attempt to fact check the Mail or GBNews and the same rule applied they'd be gone in 24 hours.

Pro Hamas, anti Israel, single sex marriage, anti Trump, anti wealth, pro climate change, pro abortion, anti Christianity…. Children changing gender identity… is this woke?

So in your view my daughters marriage is not valid?

Pushing LGBT issues onto children, often just primary children I expect.
The Israel/Gaza reporting has been consistently biased towards Gaza and Palestinians, this is what the leaked letter from ethics and standards found.
Also the BBC showed a documentary featuring a teenage boy and his life and family…..the son of a hamas Minister!
The evidence is there.

IOMGran Mon 10-Nov-25 17:01:01

GB News get's round the Ofcom policing of News channels by saying it's an entertainment channel. Ofcom must be full of donkeys. Clues in the name. Ofcom is a failure of an organisation.

Not everyone is comfortable with single sex marriage and various religions in the UK don’t agree with it I think?
I have no problems with it at all, but people do vary on such a matter.

You’re assuming a helluva lot about posters on here, and you know what they say ‘assuming makes an ass of me and you’.
Most posters want all media outlets to be safe true reporting but in this case it’s the BBC in the spotlight and yes, people are genuinely concerned by it.
That’s pearl clutching in your view is it?🤔
