Most cultures, peoples, races have some sort of 'creation' myth.
It is only in the last 4 millennia that some started to be written down.
The later that writing came to a culture, the longer the oral tradition lasted.

Some stories are very similar from different parts of the Earth.

The Flood story for instance.

Are you serious Oreo, I'll be too busy catching up with old friends. Fraid you'll have to make that discovery for yourself.

I'm confused.

Is Croydon Heaven on Earth?

But we don't actually know that until, sadly, we are gone.

True!
😁

Exactly, so we can safely say it isn’t a fact.However….if you get there first try and send a message back to us.😄

Rosie asked a questions and I nicely, as she put it, gave her the answer.

Maremia Thu 13-Nov-25 18:07:16

What I do know is that there is Hell on Earth. 🌎

Oreo Thu 13-Nov-25 18:05:15

What Croydon has to do with anything is only known to Maremia 😁

Sorry, had a wee chuckle there. Is that some GNs disputing about who is and who isn't getting into Heaven?

A wee chuckle notwithstanding it’s about a couple of us reminding posters that Heaven isn’t actually a fact.As to who gets in to it is completely unknown.

If you are English, Rosie, then the answer to your question is Croydon.

Is that in answer to where is the world's legal land registry? Unfortunately AI disagrees with you There is no single, worldwide legal land registry. Instead, land and property records are managed by individual countries, states, or local jurisdictions. but nice try.

Well, some Bible stories are open to interpretation.

Chariots of Fire - spaceships? 🤔

I’ve often thought that re spaceships.

And who were the Elohim? The “sons of God who mated with the daughters of men.” to create the Nephilim (Genesis)

Whitewavemark2 Thu 13-Nov-25 17:18:59

No it is a religious text, but some of the stories are based on past geological/political events. Much like our tales of old like King Arthur etc.

As far as I am concerned it is simply a religious text used by both Jews, Christian’s and Muslims.

It means nothing to me other than it has influenced our culture for a couple of thousand years.

If I want to study history or archeology I turn to academic literature.

Well, of course.
But the Bible has been studied extensively by historians and archaeologists as well as theologians and is more than just a religious text.

It is not all fairy tales as some might assert.

AGAA4 Thu 13-Nov-25 16:57:47

I will always respect others beliefs as long as they aren't used to harm others.
Brought up in a family of scientists I believe very little in the bible but I do know Jews were in Palestine 2000 years ago. Some claim that God has given them the whole of Palestine so they are justified in killing those who are living there.
This is where beliefs are used to get what they want by harming others. I can't condone religion being used in this way.

Sorry? The Creation?

Not sure what you mean.

I just said that the story of the Creation was a tale told to early peoples and is obviously not true.
That does not mean other parts of the Bible (Old Testament) as history is not true.

I do know there are some who believe the Creation story literally, though.
Not you, surely, Whitewave?

No of course not, but I did wonder😄😄

There are many Christian’s in the USA who do though, I believe that alongside Darwinism creationism is taught, - one does wonder at times!
