Concerned Citizens Urge Migrants to Jump from Hotel Windows

On Halloween, “concerned citizens” in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, shot fireworks at a hotel housing asylum seekers and encouraged residents to commit suicide during a protest. Flanked by Britain First posters, anti-migrant protesters spouted Islamophobic hate and abuse at police officers outside the Cresta Court Hotel.

There you go, in the name of God what have we become?

I always look for more than one source.

StripeyGran Mon 10-Nov-25 20:21:12

In the link?

Where is the outrage, the disbelief, the anger or sadness.

Where are the news reports?

Just for you eazybee.

I'm assuming you are literate and can follow a link?

Nasty post to eazybee. No need for that.

But I haven't seen it reported in the media.

It's a really readful thing to do, if true.
Have they arrested the perpetrators as i believe this is a criminal offence.

eazybee Mon 10-Nov-25 19:25:41

I suggest you read the who;e post through.
I have explained twice.

^The firework incident was reported in the Telegraph, in the News Bulletin, on November 7th and there was a more full account plus photographs in Latest, which is constantly updated therefore not accessible later.^
Would the Pro-Palestinian groups outside the football match at Aston Villa, also Thursday night, also be described as Far-Right Supporters, or Far-left? Or simply a mob?
(An earlier post in the same thread.)
There were three following posts referring to far-right groups. I asked how the pro-Palestine group, waving extremely large flags and chanting, demonstrating outside Aston Villa stadium while the supporters of the Israeli team were corralled inside a basketball court, were designated:^ far right or far left ?
Seems reasonable to me.
(It's all right, Stripey Gran, you needn't apologise.)

Apologise?

What for please?

How would you describe Britain First?

And what has Palestine got to do with Altrincham?

eazybee Mon 10-Nov-25 19:21:13

I am not hijacking this thread; I am relating the repeated use of 'far right' to the people throwing fireworks, followed later by the term 'fascist' being applied. As one of the perpetrators arrested was a 14 year old, rather a dangerous term to use, don't you think?
The account I read referred to people in Liverpool and Birmingham, and made no mention of anyone in Altrincham being encouraged to jump out of windows.

Disgusting, you can't argue with stupid, and brain dead people. They need to feel the full force of the law.
Its hard to understand people like this exist. The shame is on them.

I believe the shame is also on the people who ignore them and even support them because some of their views happen to coincide with the supporters. Unfortunately, the attempt by some hardcore racist groups to clean up their act and rebrand themselves seems to be fooling some people.

Haven't there been enough threads about the Aston Villa game for you to be able to avoid hijacking this one?

Presumably you support (or at least don't have a problem with) people encouraging others to jump out of windows to escape fire.

On a more serious note it is a real worry where our once decent country is heading to. The media in whatever guise has much to answer for because it stirs up people, some with very little brain, to hatred and violence.

Yes, it is a worry - it's a time for tolerant people (those who do actually respect the values of our country) to be intolerant of what's going on in front of the noses.

^Well I 'm ashamed of my country and its flag flying misogamist, racist leaders^

This I assume refers to the Pro-Palestine supporters who gathered outside Aston Villa Stadium. I will ask again: are these designated far-right or far-left.?

No, it's about people who gather round a hotel in Altrincham, direct fireworks at the windows and taunt residents to jump.

I can't find anything about this in any news media. Was it reported locally?

Ashlea Simon (one of Britain First's leaders) posted about it on her own Twitter (X) feed.

What on earth are you going on about?

This story is about facist thugs and their fan group throwing fireworks at people and urging them to jump out of windows to their death.

And all you can manage is something about pro Palestine?

Where is the outrage, the disbelief, the anger or sadness.

Flags? What a joke. It's embarassing.

67 million people in the country, a couple of hundred demonstrate, so what?

I think it is the NATURE of that demonstrating by 200 people that is the issue. 1. It gives other idiots ideas 2. It is a dangerous model for "protesting" 3. We have all seen how peaceful demo's get hijacked by violent others. The potential for this to be part of their repertoire is significant 4. How easily it could have turned into another Grenfell!

I DO care that there are people who would actually throw fireworks to deliberately endanger others and then encourage them to jump/kill themselves, in our country. I am unclear what happened to these "protesters". They deserve the book thrown at them; it's a lot worse than inappropriate "inciting" on social media that people have been imprisoned for(not that I am condoning online inciting!)

Concerned citizens urging people to jump out of hotel windows is surely an oxymoron.

Oreo, I am a concerned resident but I don't urge people to end their lives and throw fireworks at them.

Neither do I. That’s nice isn’t it, we agree on something.

I don't suppose it was " so what " from the residents or the police.
