There are newly released e-mails, which implicate the big beast. Time to watch and wait I think.

I'm case any of you would like some light reading for the weekend. You can now search the 20,000 documents . I haven't looked deeply, but did do a couple of quick searches to test it.

It gave me a list of results and I could click on any one to open the document to read.

Just so you are aware. I was surprised by the simplicity of the website. It is literally just a landing page. Mid way down the page will be a link that says search tool. On the next page that comes up. There is a search bar at the top of the page. Enter the term you want to search and hit enter.

I kept looking for what I was missing, especially because the search bar is close in color to the page background.

The DOJ had opened a new investigation into the Epstein files, which means they can not be released, even by a vote of Congress.

It’s in retribution.

Trump is desperate.

I am ashamed to admit, Karoline Levitt makes me so angry I want to smack her when I see her on TV. She is just a condescending b word. I actually have to turn her off. I will enjoy watching her be tried for her treasonous actions alongside the rest of them.

Trump can't deflect his way out of this one.

I know exactly what you mean (I feel the same about Farage). The thing that really annoys me about her, even though I’m not a religious person, is the way she has the audacity to wear a cross when she represents the orange one and everything he stands for.

MTG has been excommunicated.

I wish Trump would get his downfall but I doubt it. He changes rules and pardons himself. He has surrounded himself with people who tell him how great he is. Many powerful people were involved with Epstein and they cover each other. I bet the wives know.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 15-Nov-25 06:49:18

Well, Trumps wife does as she was one of Epstein’s group introduced to Trump.

He relies on public acceptance though, as all leaders do. If there is enough evidence of wrongdoing then he will be forced out by public opinion.

His poll ratings have fallen tremendously. What is needed is a charismatic trustworthy democrat as potential president.

Asking a lot I know.

Who isn’t too old.

Casdon Sat 15-Nov-25 13:09:03

Who are you thinking of that is too old Oreo, I can only think of Biden, whi is definitely not going to?

imaround Sat 15-Nov-25 13:57:14

There is not a single Democrat I would be excited to vote for. Pritzker maybe. As much as I adore how Newsome has turned Trump into a laughing stock, I don't think he is the one.

I think AOC would do well, but that is only because when the pendulum swings, it is often sharp and it wouldn't surprise me to swing from far right to far left as a knee jerk reaction to Trump and his band of merry misfits.

However, Oreo does bring up this point correctly often. We have got to figure out a plan for after Trump and we need a good strategy that doesn't include an old established Democrat who won't give up power.
Sadly, I think we are all going to vote for whoever it is, good or bad, just to get rid of him.

I hope we are voting Vance out in 2028 to be honest. He is still hugely unpopular and I am not sure will command the same attention that Trump does.

Whatever it takes to get off this hamster wheel. Let's hope we are smart about it.

Casdon Sat 15-Nov-25 14:03:36

I’m sure you’re right imaround, I just had not realised that there were ‘old’ Democrats in the frame, the only person I’ve heard saying they might stand was Kamala Harris, who is relatively young. Perhaps Oreo did mean old school rather than old age, I’m not sure.

Newsom has the guts to do it but a lot of Dems grassroots don't like him. Pritzker would be good. They need to run a white man sadly, with the current climate.

Wyllow3 Sat 15-Nov-25 14:23:43

JB Pritzker has what it takes imo. Unless his cultural/religious background is held against him. He's used his wealth well, and knows how to play the very rich at their own game.

I don't think a swing to the further left, however much my heart might want it, will beat Trump. Politics have moved so far to the right.

Get ready for him to be labelled "communist" 🙄

imaround Sat 15-Nov-25 14:30:19

I think Oreo meant age. grin It has been a common complaint about candidates in the US. They should be stepping aside at 70. Not running for President. Biden was too old, Trump is too old.

No to Sanders. No to Warren (who just said she is retiring). No to Schumer.

Yes to people like Mark Kelly, Tim Walz (who looks older than he is) Shapiro, Pritzker.

From an unemotional viewpoint, it will be very interesting to watch the process of old guard to new guard happen in 2026, and especially in 2028.

It has already started with our elections last week. Lots of Democrats replaced Republicans in long term safe red seats and 2 of the largest cities in the US voted in socialists.

And we are going to see a lot more support for universal healthcare now that millions are losing insurance on Jan 1st because they can no longer afford the premiums. In many cases the monthly premiums are more than mortgage payments.

Them taking away everyone's SNAP benefits and now forcing them all the reapply for benefits has not been popular either.

Millions of layoff and refusing to release the October jobs report so we can't see how bad it really is. That is a common Trump tactic, of you can't see it, it doesn't exist.

Oreo Sat 15-Nov-25 14:51:40

Yes, I meant too old in age.

Casdon Sat 15-Nov-25 16:35:25

Republican Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana made me laugh with his comment:

“I just don’t think this issue is going to go away until that issue is addressed and answered to the American people’s satisfaction,” Kennedy told CNN’s Kasie Hunt. “And I may end up with a sombrero on my head for saying that, but that’s the way I see it.”

Maremia Sat 15-Nov-25 17:17:38

You just mentioned Senator John Kennedy, is there another Kennedy thinking about standing for election.

Maremia Sat 15-Nov-25 17:18:33

Whereas I agree with Oreo about the age issue, some of the current young Republicans are dreadful.

I don’t know, he was quoted because he had originally voted against the release of the files, but had changed his mind, he’s one of the 75 Republicans needed to force it.

I was impressed with Pete Buttigieg. His Wiki says:

In March 2025, Buttigieg opted not to run for the U.S. Senate in Michigan in 2026, with sources saying that he was instead mulling a run for president in 2028.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Buttigieg

18 August 2025 BLOOMINGTON, Indiana — Pete Buttigieg said he believes in “giving Americans more credit” than assuming they couldn’t vote for a Black woman and a gay man on the same presidential ticket, as former Vice President Kamala Harris asserts in her new book.

The former Transportation secretary told POLITICO Thursday that he was “surprised” to read a passage from Harris’ upcoming book that said Buttigieg was her first choice for a running mate and “would have been an ideal partner — if I were a straight white man.

...and back to Trump and my back has defo just gone up. Cue for having heard his demands for £1 billion to start with from our BBC (who did do wrong with "editing" by the sound of it - tis true) and then he promptly upped it to £5 billion.

Cue for putting the query into the Internet - and back came explanation of how ruined our BBC would be at £1 billion and so in went my query re £5 billion and back came "It would be destroyed by him". All explanations were given as to why these two different effects would happen if he got that money from us.

Cue for "How dare he try and interfere with our country again? Isn't he up to enough mischief in other countries without having another go at ours?". Okay their military bases in our country is the first bit America is doing of interfering with our country and I could probably make out a long long list of America's interference in our country if I asked....

Some people I've never met are on a "I'd invite them to dinner promptly if they needed it" list. He's just started me up on a list of "Who I'd turn my garden hosepipe against and drench them" list.

IOMGran Sun 16-Nov-25 12:42:41

I have a similar list Cariad.
