I know why because murdering Putin wants Ukraine land, Trump is in league with Putin, or is under his thumb.

We know Putin will demand Ukrainian land and has the audacity to want to reduce the Ukrainian Army.

Trump will blame Zelensky for not agreeing. I am almost speechless with rage.

Sky reporting the US media saying that Ukraine has agreed the plan.

Aveline Tue 25-Nov-25 13:23:43

No they aren't!

Maremia Tue 25-Nov-25 12:35:42

BBC saying that Ukraine has agreed the peace deal!!!!

Movie currently doing the rounds with a bald Emma Stone starring.Ronib

What I find most worrying about the Putin peace plan is the fact that Ukraine’s sovereignty is being stripped.

That cannot be allowed to happen.

AGAA4 Tue 25-Nov-25 09:56:14

The US senate has said that Marco Rubio's assertion the the plan was authored by the US is 'blatantly false'.

There's hopefully some progress made by the Europeans and Trump as usual has had to step back from his bullying deadline.

Russia is still bombing Ukraine and I don't believe Putin wants peace. He may welcome a respite to strengthen his army but his aim is to have all of Ukraine and beyond.

ronib Tue 25-Nov-25 09:49:15

Bugmania?

foxie48 Tue 25-Nov-25 09:44:44

Ronib you should go to see Bugmania, it's horribly violent at times but I think you might appreciate the underlying message, which is that we are an uncivilised society that is incapable of learning from it's mistakes and taking the necessary steps to avoid catastrophe. Well that's what I took away from it!

Maremia Tue 25-Nov-25 09:39:09

Absolutely 'unnecessary' ronib there was no reason for Putin to invade.
Peace would come about immediately, if he stopped bombing and withdrew his troops.

Smileless2012 Tue 25-Nov-25 09:18:09

Continued killing at the behest of politicians, world leaders? and those world leaders are Putin and Trump with Putin continuing to kill despite this so called 'peace plan'.

ronib Tue 25-Nov-25 09:11:33

I don’t know - Iam64 . Continued killing at the behest of politicians, world leaders?
It seems so shamefully primitive as a method to resolve conflict. Positively Neanderthal?

Iam64 Tue 25-Nov-25 08:40:55

Of course the Ukrainians want peace, for the reasons set out by other posters that don’t need repeating here.
I heard on the news yesterday that translators confirmed Trump’s proposals were directly translated from Russian

Peace at the instruction of two bullying, unethical despots? European leaders must stand with Ukraine.

foxie48 Tue 25-Nov-25 08:30:43

Of course Ukrainians want peace. They have been bombed, they are living without heating in many places, they've lost their sons, their children have been stolen and taken to Russia. Of course they want peace. Some will want peace at any price but most won't. They're just like any other population of people, there will be differences of opinion and willingness to suffer, but if Putin is allowed to win this war, most Ukrainians understand that he'll be back for more in the future once he's rearmed and got his economy on a better footing.

It's a disgrace who ever said it was giving Russia their wish list is correct. Trump is an absolute disgrace and I await his eventual down fall, that is unless he changes another law that says he is in the White House for life,.I would not put it past him. How can American people not feel ashamed of him? They should not turn up for any meeting he has and perhaps he might take note. I won't be visiting whilst he is in, much too volatile.
The bravery of Ukraine and the conduct of Zelenski is the opposite of Trump. My heart goes out to them.

Smileless2012 Mon 24-Nov-25 21:02:04

I'm sure they do ronib but probably not along the same lines as Putin's wish list.

Casdon Mon 24-Nov-25 20:44:32

ronib

Recent research surveys suggest that Ukrainians want an end to the war I believe.

Of course they do. They want their own country back, as we all would if we had been invaded by a hostile force.

Smileless2012 Mon 24-Nov-25 19:46:13

I think we'd know if anyone had ronib.

ronib Mon 24-Nov-25 19:24:31

Has anyone asked? Smileless2012

Smileless2012 Mon 24-Nov-25 19:16:23

I doubt the Ukrainians would agree that it's an unnecessary war ronib and Putin doesn't give a damn about the cost to human life and neither does his pal Trump.

ronib Mon 24-Nov-25 18:59:31

But Russia is not going to back down imo. This unnecessary war could go on for years? At what cost to human life?

Smileless2012 Mon 24-Nov-25 17:07:39

Exactly Oreo which is Europe needs to step up so Trump is in no doubt that Putin's wish list is unacceptable.

Oreo Mon 24-Nov-25 17:01:24

As long as the US realises that countries in Europe are not about to allow the Russia wish list to go ahead dressed up as a peace plan. There will have to be compromise by Ukraine but not giving up the Donbas region or other regions not yet taken over by Russia.

foxie48 Mon 24-Nov-25 15:46:14

Apologies, * Grantanow* I assumed incorrectly that most would know I was referring to a popular podcast, The Rest is Politics. Basically, Alastair Cambell and Rory Stewart, the two presenters are absolutely agreeing with you but went through the deal line by line explaining why it was such a dreadful deal for Ukraine.
