Trump and Putin negotiating War in Ukraine without Zelensky?

Zelensky is a hero. I've admired him since the start of the Russian invasion, when he was offered an exit to safety with his family. He said (I hope I've quoted him right) 'I don't want a ride, I want arms'. How brave; the whole family are. Zelensky is being treated appallingly not only by Trump and the terrifying Putin; he's being 'left to it' by hordes of western politicians, including our own. Now a scandal has arisen where his political colleagues' corruption has been exposed. What about that golden lavatory!? (The photo by the proud owner showed it with the seat up, of course). I'd say you couldn't make it up, but sadly, you can and it turns out to be true.

Hope those armaments deals go though for Ukraine.

Think some of the eastern European countries are also concerned. Those in the path of Putin's ambitions.

Listening to commentators. Trump is becoming a lame duck president, which means his domestic power is slipping from his grasp, and so will turn his attention to international matters.

So he still has huge potential for harm.

It's like he is circling back around to all his "campaign promises" in order to distract from something.

I hope Zelinsky told him off in a non-diplomatic way, though I have a feeling he is to classy for that.

Zelensky has told Trump to stuff his plan ( it may be a bit more diplomatically worded than that.)

Not just that, the Russian ship was apparently using strong lasers to potentially distract the RAF crew in the observation aircraft which as we are aware is a no, no doing this to any aircraft as the consequences to the crew could be distasterous

I haven’t watched much news lately , so there is this but also what is going on between Russia and U.K? I heard a newscaster suggesting that the U.K. is looking at using the military if Russia repeats its behaviour😮😮

Trump isn't interested in negotiating; all he wants is a Peace he can claim credit for and he has no scruples about how it is achieved, because there is not a large Ukrainian contingent in the United States he is answerable to.

Why does Trump think he can negotiate with Russia and not with Ukraine. He should keep out of their business but he's desperate for the peace prize.

They can 'negotiate' as much as they like but it wont do them any good without Zelensky's input. I am almost speechless with rage me too NanKate and no doubt the Ukrainians are too.
