I have noticed how the DT has gone down hill. Years ago it used to be an intelligent right wing paper. Now it is just as trashy and bigoted as all the other 'right minded' newspapers.

The Guardian on the other hand has got better and is not as bang the drum left wing as it used to be.

So everything on the right is trashy and bigoted really!

Oh to be perfect and on the left 🤦‍♀️

I never said anything about the DT being rubbish because it is right wing and I didn't use the words trashy and bigoted.

I don't claim to be perfect or left wing. I actually indicated that the Guardian is better for not being so relentlessly left wing.

I think you are reading more into my post than is actually there.

Does anyone know of a moderate newspaper which offers centrist views?

Magenta8- I read your message that you previously enjoyed reading the Telegraph, as a right wing newspaper, but since found it has deteriorated and become trashy and bigoted, as you have similarly noticed other right wing papers to be.

You previously found the Guardian to be decidedly left wing in its views but now find it has improved, is now more centre in its reporting.

I didn't read that you feel its perfect to be left wing and "everything on the right is trashy and bigoted"- more the case that you are looking for a newspaper that is not bigoted in its reporting style.....

OMG, thank goodness I am partially sighted and can no longer read newspapers.

The Daily Telegraph is not a sensationalistic rag.

It made me wince.

Effectively one less point of view in the media?

I would have thought it'll be the same point of view in 2 outlets. They're both right wing but the Mail is a little more sensationalist in the way it communicates its views.

I get DT every single morning. It makes me go out.
And I read it online but prefer the paper version in my hot little hands

I was delighted to hear this. My two favourite newspapers.
We buy proper printed newspapers which in my opinion is preferable to reading the online versions.

Interested to know.
Do you pick them up somewhere every morning?

I think I am right in saying I could have newspapers delivered. But the next day I think.

Where did you get that information from please eazybee ?

keepingquiet Sat 22-Nov-25 13:04:08

They are both sensationalistic rags- let them do what they want I for one couldn't care less.

eazybee Sat 22-Nov-25 12:41:34

Oh no!
Coupled with John Lewis closing their carpet department.
What next.

For a mere five hundred million as well.

The news is this is a realistic possibility, but depends on various approvals.

Birds of a feather stick together, I suppose.
