Sad to read of this just now.
I do wonder how Meghan will respond. I suppose it’s a case of too little too late now.

I dont think it's ever too late, she should make her peace with him and Harry shoukd encourage her to.

RosieandherMaw Wed 03-Dec-25 19:55:13

I hope she does make her peace with him, her behaviour up to.now hasn't been anything to write home about.

Esmay Wed 03-Dec-25 19:56:24

It's very sad and I wish him well.
I wonder what Thomas Markle actually did to upset the Empress .
I get the impression that she has the cuckoo mentality -let's shove anyone out of the nest who doesn't tow the line .
If her father dies - she'll be consumed with regrets.
It won't go away as she ages and becomes ill herself.
If she does see him I hope that it doesn't turn into a media circus .

Poor Thomas 😕

GrannyGravy13 Wed 03-Dec-25 20:16:42

Regrets last forever.

I hope she visits her father, without cameras.

Casdon Wed 03-Dec-25 20:25:36

I don’t like the way his son used his father being critically ill to go to the press and say publicly that he hopes Meghan goes to see him. It should be private, but it seems that for publicity, anything goes for that entire family.

She might but I doubt it.

Bukkie Wed 03-Dec-25 22:47:01

I am not sure she will be filled with regrets. She always thinks she is blameless and the victim in every situation.

?? it was well publicised at the time. She went NC because;

He publically betrayed her for money and fame. Meghan then feared he would ruthlessly flog the family dirty laundry for money in a book, or to Oprah on TV.

Where would that leave her and Harry, eh? Up the creek without a paddle.

I hope she takes his grandchildren to meet him before it is too late, but I doubt it.

I assume that was meant to be ironic!

"As ye sow, so shall ye reap" may apply to Meghan too one day.

Usedtobeblonde Wed 03-Dec-25 23:25:14

She will have little or no regrets and the father’s other family will have nothing else to beef about and go back to obscurity.
A sad and unedifying situation for all.

nanna8 Wed 03-Dec-25 23:35:54

Hope she goes to see him but I don’t think she will going on her past dealings with him. Strange and unattractive family.

Cossy Wed 03-Dec-25 23:48:54

I don’t think any one of us should judge Meghan. It’s entirely her business and her half/sister appears every bit as vile as Meghan has been painted.

It’s no one else’s business but hers.

"As ye sow, so shall ye reap" sadly.

Maybe.

But, eventually, there will be a book deal and another interview with Oprah.

Luckygirl3 Thu 04-Dec-25 04:17:57

We know nothing about what has gone on behind the scenes, any more than anyone knows what goes on with our families behind the scenes. Let's not be judgemental and just leave her be. I hate this pilingnin.

Susan56 Thu 04-Dec-25 05:58:59

I agree with you Luckygirl.

She had cut him from her life long before, once she had her little role in a cable TV programme and didn't need him any longer. As Harry's future wife she would have been able to prepare her family, as is the norm for anyone marrying into the RF, she seems to have chosen not to and he later made some poor decisions.
I doubt she'll be too bothered if he dies, unless she decided to add 'grieving daughter's to her repertoire.

We have every right to judge someone who has lied so often, not even her publicly told lies are consistent. The head of, I think, Spotify summed them up perfectly Grifters.

Smileless2012 Thu 04-Dec-25 08:33:43

He publically betrayed her for money and fame they have a lot in common then don't they; H and M's Oprah interview and H's book.

merlotgran Thu 04-Dec-25 09:03:29

Did he really betray her?
I think he was out of his depth and fell victim to those who just wanted to exploit the situation for the media.

Luckygirl3 Thu 04-Dec-25 09:30:14

We have every right to judge someone who has lied so often - do we have that right?

We can judge someone when we know the full facts. We have no idea at all what life was like for Megan growing up nor how the rifts in their family developed.

I have no idea whether Megan is a wonderful person or a dreadful person - I suspect that, like the rest of us, she might be a bit of both. Or just somewhere in the middle.

I am happy to judge people like Johnson or Hitler who have caused untold general misery - but not the likes of Megan, who does no harm.

Anniebach Thu 04-Dec-25 09:42:03

Fact - “we were married privately 3 days before our wedding day “ a lie

Grantanow Thu 04-Dec-25 09:44:25

Why is this relevant to us?
