Yes, it's time to let it go. I haven't watched it in years. The original premise was good but now it's ridiculous.
Used wrong compost what can I do
With the latest, four countries will withdraw if Israel is allowed to compete and the ongoing joke about voting having nothing to do with supporting countries for political reasons, is it time to drop it?
Even if we don’t have a song likely to win, we still get to pay out, because
the "Big Five" countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK) pay the highest fees and automatically qualify for the grand final.

What about the murdered and kidknpped Israeli Hostages wasnt that just aa wrong. The genocide committed is as much the fault of Hamas as they were using the aid to feed their own troops and then moving their military bases to populated areas.
It’s hugely popular as camp entertainment.
Many families and groups get together and score on things like song, choreography, outfits and more.
The politics and block voting has taken some fun out of it. The focus on demonising Israel has put me right off

The antisemitism is awful. Israel was invaded by Hamas. I shall never forget the videos on TV of Hamas dragging those young Jewish women covered in blood around the streets. Israeli government is responsible, as are Hamas for the continuation of the conflict. Israel has a right to defend itself.
Ireland has become, or has always been, Hamas/Palestine supporters, are antisemitic, and I am utterly ashamed to call myself Irish. I think Spain is similar, I am not sure of the other countries.

But pro Palestinian supporters brush that under the carpet.
Israel has been taking part in Eurovision for very many years and has a right to.
Many eligible countries choose not to participate. Monaco, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovakia do not compete for financial reasons. Hungary, Turkey and Morocco dropped out and Luxemburg left but came back. Its up to each broadcaster to decide if its an event that fits their audience and their budget.
I wonder how the countries that have pulled out feel now? Will they feel any responsibility at all after hearing of the shooting on Bondi Beach?
One atrocity does not cancel out another love0c.
As well as that young girl what haunts me, perhaps even more are those two little Bibas babies. One only 8 months old, strangled by those barbarians with their bare hands, apparently!, before or after their despairing mother? I don't think we know what the order was. I just can't get my head round such wickedness. On a par with throwing babies and young children into the furnaces. There must be a place in hell for people who perpetrate that kind of evil? As for Eurovision? Who on earth wants to listen or watch that complete load of biased junk?
There is no getting away from the fact that atrocities committed against the innocent civilian population of Palestinians on the Gaza Strip mean that the Israelis are war criminals. This in no way diminishes the seriousness of the atrocities committed against the Israelis by Hamas.
I am not sure where this leaves the Israeli entry in the Eurovision Song Contest but perhaps it would be wise for Israel to give it a miss.
Why should they if they don't want to? Why is it always Israel bad (Jews?) and has to give way, but other countries also bad but somehow not AS bad?! so don't have to give way? No Jews, No news!!

Why should they feel any responsibility for Bondi. This happened because of the anger felt by people who are watching the things being done to the whole of the population of Gaza, where loads of children are suffering, starving and dying. There are two groups involved in this, Gaza and Israel, both have don terrible things, Hamas is vile and the current Israeli government is vile. Poor innocent people get stuck in the middle and suffer. Trump pours petrol on the fire too.
The casualties in Gaza would have been far less if Hamas had put some of the millions of dollars allocated to them into developing some sort of civil defence for their population. Instead of tunnels fitted out for housing offensive weapons, keeping prisoners, and terrorist fighters, an air raid shelter for civilians might have been a good idea, protecting them from air attacks, as we had in WW2 and as Israel sensibly and humanely still does. Hamas knew perfectly well what Israel's reaction to Oct 7th would be and yet made no provision for any civilian defence! What sort of government treats its citizens so inhumanely. They're the ones who should be charged with the deaths in Gaza.
Both Hamas who caused the 'reaction' and the IDF who carried out the 'reaction' are responsible. Both of them, guilty.
No civilian protection from a government that has invaded and murdered its neighbours civilian population. How can Israel be guilty of that?! Hamas deliberately put their civilians in harms way in order to maximise their own casualties. What ever sort of government does that?!
The Israel government never give way nor withdraws in any situation, whether militarily or competing in a European song contest.
Until the world decides to do as they did with South Africa, Israel will do what it wants, regardless. Always has, presumably always will.
My criticism has always been of the Israeli government. Not the Jewish population.
What happened today in Bondi was shocking, ,for this to happen to anyone, whoever they are, is terrible, but 70,000 plus dead and tens of thousands more injured with little hope of medical care in Gaza, is many times more shocking.

There is no getting away from the fact that one atrocity does not cancel out another, Jaberwok. Trying to justify action X because of action Y is doomed to fail. The only way forward is an acceptance of culpability.
The Israeli government is responsible for razing Gaza to the ground and killing 70,000 Gazans.
The people of Israel and Jews everywhere are not responsible for the atrocities.
I wouldn't want to be blamed for what my government does. It's out of my control.

I think you know the answer Jaberwok it’s overt or covert anti semitism at play.
I think if we're honest, we all know that.
‘We’ don’t ‘all know’ that this is anti semitism. It’s been clearly stated it’s anti Netanyahu and his dreadful government and not the population.
I have just said as much on my recent post.
However if it suits to believe otherwise that is your choice.
Here we go again with the conflation.
Being against a genocidal regime, is not being antisemitic.
It is being against a genocidal regime.
It doesn't suit people to think differently it's perfectly obvious that anti semitism is alive and well, otherwise why aren't others criticised, what about the children/civilians of Yemen, Sudan, The Congo, Iran, Nigeria and so on where many more have died and been displaced? No marches for them, it's only ever Israel that people shriek and shout about and of course Jews.
Why don’t you open your own mind and listen to other perspectives though Jaberwok, instead of assuming it is others who can’t see the light? The reason the places you mention are not frequently discussed is that they are remote from us, and rarely in the news in the UK, whereas we have a deep, longstanding relationship with Israel and the Jewish people.
Maremia is absolutely right in my opinion.
