Interesting that the pro Jewish posts are the ones being deleted. Says it all.

Yes it’s strange the way some posts are reported and by who.

love0c Tue 16-Dec-25 07:05:17

nanna Yes, it certainly does!

Good post foxie48. Whilst Islamic extremists hate Jews, especially those in Israel, they kill people of any faith and none, children like those in the Manchester arena massacre. Angry, bitter, bigoted individuals of any faith or none pose such a threat to the majority, who simply want to live in peace

AGAA4 Mon 15-Dec-25 19:37:34

Yes foxie the Manchester Arena bombing killed many not just Jews.
Islamic extremists hate the west and want to destroy our way of life.

Reason, ? they were Jews

Islamic extremists don't just kill Jews. 9/11 They killed Christians, Jews, Muslims, those without a faith and those with, they did the same in the Bataclan theatre attack in Paris in 2015. That's why IMO it's so important for everyone regardless of which religion they do or don't follow, stand together to condemn what they do. I believe they want to create division amongst us and if that happens, then they are winning.

Official Statement by The Global Imams Council Regarding the Terrorist Attack on the Jewish Community at Bondi Beach, Sydney, During Hanukkah Celebrations. Well worth watching only 5 minutes long.

Thank you for posting this. It roundly condemns terrorist atrocities and hopefully will help to stop a backlash against Muslims, the vast majority of whom are completely innocent of any wrong doing.

It is such a clear, firm statement - that hate only begets hate - I share your hope, Foxie.

Wyllow, there are politics and cultural factors and reasons surrounding anything like this but in the end , no there are no excuses. However in order to try and stop it happening we cannot ignore those reasons

If I’m misunderstanding, please tell me but, I read your comment as implying that the actions of the Isreali government in Gaza is a ‘reason’ for the terrorist murders in Manchester, and in Sydney.

So often we see the conflation of the actions of this Israeli government as somehow justifying attacks on Jewish people in any part of the world.

Many Jewish people no longer feel safe in the UK.

That’s how I read Wyllow’s comments too. There are no valid reasons in the world why Jewish Australians or Jewish English or Jews around the world should be murdered …it’s all Islamist extremism ideology and nothing else.

October 7th was the most terrible warning, and those who chanted globalise the intifada have partly led to this. Those chanting haven't the first clue what they are unleashing, or even worse maybe they do.

Some do and some don’t. Lots of what look like young students gleefully shouting it and punching the air on marches may one day look back on it and feel ashamed.Or not.
The hateful marches should never have been allowed here.

Thank you for posting the link.

What a heartfelt and respectful statement by the Imam. No excuses, no reasons, no ifs, no buts.

What a wise man. This is the stuff of harmony, of togetherness, of peace and mutual respect.

We need more like this.

It is all unimaginable but there is something about the father son aspect of it that is particularly appalling.

Casdon Mon 15-Dec-25 17:12:18

The information from the Australian police so far is that they were driven by Islamist ideology, but were not part of any terrorist cell, they acted alone Labradora. I can’t ever remember a similar father/son dynamic in an attack, it must be unusual.

Labradora Mon 15-Dec-25 17:05:53

It's a good result that the Australian police killed one of them and kept the other alive for questioning so that they can dig out any other of the vermin involved.
Commiserations to all involved.

I have just read that a woman disrupted the Bondi Beach vigil with her anti-Israel comments.

After reading some of the threads on here over the past few years, I can't say I'm surprised. Sadly.

It shows a remarkable lack of intelligence to hijack a peaceful vigil in such a way that you know full well will cause trouble.

Some people just can't keep scratching when there's no itch.

I was slightly heartened by hearing some phone in to Nicky Campbell this morning suggesting masked people chanting globalise the intifada might be a Bad Thing

You’re right to wonder whether these people understand what the want to unleash

I agree. I also read an implication that there were ‘reasons” that we needed to understand for an unprovoked attack upon Australian citizens.

As Australia has no involvement in the situation in Gaza, the only other “reason” that the attack victims were Jewish.

And this we must understand is reasonable ie there are reasons for this to have happened.

Jaberwok

I sometimes wonder if people who bander around the word Nazi and facist so glibly actually understand what these words mean! Perhaps having a look at some old film of Germany, or Italy both between and during the two wars would help people to understand that actually the most extreme behaviour of right or left in any country in the West certainly does not fit either of these evil descriptions.

Are you trying to say Jaberwok that nothing could be worse than the murders committed in Germany and Italy during WW2?
I hate to tell you this, but human history is littered with massacres, this is a sad, fascinating page en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:20th-century_massacres
This one too en.wikipedia.org/wiki/21st-century_genocides
and many others like it. Humans find reasons to kill each other off, appeal to some righteous god or hating people for being different or conquest and domination by some regime or other. The British Empire created many situations which have ended in slavery, massacres and deprivation thoughout the 20th century.
It's desperately sad how impossible it seems to be for people to live peacefully, tolerating others.

You don’t have a monopoly in wanting ‘both groups’ to feel safe. I suspect all of us want all communities to feel safe. I’m well aware of the history of the area and of the extent of anti semitism since time began. It never goes away. There are parallels with Germany in the 1930’s

Islamic terrorists were responsible for the killings at Heaton Park Synagogue and in Sydney. These were murders of innocent people attempting to celebrate their faith

Galaxy Mon 15-Dec-25 16:45:04

They are systematically murdering Jews.
I actually agree that far right is generally thrown around in a ridiculous fashion.
