You think he is dead?
A drop in the ocean in the great schemes of things....but replicated by how many more
US have attacked Venezuela with missiles. This is unforgivable
You think he is dead?
I would guess that a world without the current Venezuelan president has to be an improvement.
Nope, no shame in taking part in a democratic election.
And if I am still a terrestrial, entity, will take part in the next one.

Opal, we in Britain had the opportunity to effect a " regime change", recently, and we are due another in a few years. We call them elections.
Really? Well, who'd have known .....
Yes, and the next election can't come soon enough. 18 months in power, and their election pledges shot to pieces. "Deliver economic stability" - failed. "Smash the gangs" - failed. And to top it all, they've paid compensation to a terrorist because his "human rights" were infringed. Anyone who voted in Labour headed up by a human rights lawyer should have known what his priorities would be. Hang your heads in shame.

The similarities with Putin are increasing every day. No wonder they ‘get’ each other.
That’s exactly how I feel. They must be comparing notes, although Trump will be saying, see this is how it’s done in a few hours.
There is a Thread just now about GB News and Trump interference.
And, in our future democratic elections, we don't want foreign money and interference.

Well we all know that Putin is Trumps hero.
All Trump knows is hate and division

Precisely 👏👏👏
Ronib if you are referring to Tony Blair and Gordon Brown they had a previous agreement.
As for your statement, ‘well done Trump’ words fail. He is a deranged and dangerous man.
It seems to be universally accepted that another world war is getting terrifyingly closer which we will be dragged into.
How do you feel about that?

I wish the US military would just refuse to obey him.
Then what a load of court martials there would be!
A sufficiently high-ranking officer can attempt to dissuade his commander-in-chief (president or monarch) from a course of action, but unless the order directly contradicts the Geneva convention for warfare, and /or a direct ruling from the International Court in the Hague, he or she cannot just disobey a given order.
And not being either a civil or military lawyer, I am in doubt as to whether even if you can prove the Geneva convention forbids the course of action, it is wise or possible to say no.
After all, it depends entirely on the c-in-c if you can get away with declining to obey.
If the c-in-c is Putin, obviously you can't, and the way Trump is heading, I doubt he will put up with officers disobeying him either.
They could, of course, resign their commissions.
Well ask Tony Blair about regime change? fancythat. Perhaps he’s advising Trump just now?

Well talking nicely to Maduro wasn’t going to cut it.
Well done President Trump.
I too am interested in your well done Trump sentence.
Do you think any Country can take away the Leader of any Country, for any reason?
I am not awake enough to fully participate in this conversation yet.
I'll be back later after I fully research what is going on so I can participate in a conversation.
I am interested to see how someone can say well done Trump in this scenario, because at its surface it seems has has moved without Congress and is participating in human rights violations.

Indeed Whitewave.
I wonder if people consider the UK to be immune?Exactly!
Trump has already made it clear that he thinks the UK government is too left wing (ha, ha … if only).
He’s criticised our democratically elected mayor of London in the most despicable terms.
He’s referred to our capital city a hell hole being over run by immigrants, Sharia law and no-go areas.
He believes we no longer have freedom of speech in the UK.
How long before he decides it’s time for ‘regime change’ in the UK … and sees it as his role to facilitate it?
How does that sit with some?
1. The UK Government IS too left wing.
2. Our capital city IS being overrun by immigrants, as is our 2nd city, Birmingham, together with Leicester and Bradford.
3. We don't have freedom of speech in the UK - as soon as you express concern about immigration, you are labelled "racist".
4. It IS time for regime change in the UK.
The UK needs to close down American military bases on British soil. We're already a target for anti-American factions and now even more so.
We have to shake off the image of being a convenient geographical launch-site for the US, forever at the beck and call of the White House.

Of course it isn't about drugs. Trump doesn't give a flying fig about drugs. Even if it was, why not work with others countries or the opposition in Venezuela? It's a dead cat to distract from what's going on at home
This is yet another diversion tactic. In New York he has ignored
Court decisions and is now being subject to Asset Seizure,
Trump Tower among them. He has been unable to secure
Bond on his property empire because of overestimating
their worth, no one wants to touch him, without Bond he
cannot appeal the Court decisions.
This week 47 members of Congress have passed a resolution
demanding his resignation, this includes some Rebulicans.
He refused some military demands untill 3 Generals
swore alleigence to him, yiikes! Divergence tactics in play?
Is the US's interference in foreign countries anything new though? They were very instrumental in deposing Allende back in the '70s because he was deemed too left wing. Then Chile really suffered under Pinochet's military junta. So much of central and south America either veers to the extreme right or left, both equally awful for the people of those countries. Much of the population is starving, whilst the powers that be live high on the hog. The mismanagement of economies from countries that have a wealth of natural resources from their successive extreme governments have left so many as basket cases. Not that I think an American president should take it upon himself to interfere in another country's internal affairs.

As for trying to prevent drugs entering a country, because of a pervasive drug problem, it should be considered why a country develops this problem in the first place.
It usually suggests socioeconomic distress and inequality.
Not so.
The richer countries of the world are the ones keeping this industry going.
Having said that, it’s irrelevant because we are never going to stop it.

I am fascinated by the idea that Venezuela has drug cartels which had put in place the newly deposed president. Strange form of democracy?
Also Trump has taken on the drug barons as a way of keeping illegal drugs out of his country. What is wrong with that? The majority of drugs coming through Venezuela come to Europe. They don’t produce drugs.
I heard this morning[tv] lots of drugs grown on venezuela/columbian border.
The vast majority of drugs coming across that border are man made: Fentanyl. The coca plant ( cocaine) is grown all over Columbia.
