News on Gaza

Gaza has been forgotten ,put on the back burner while Netanyahu continues on his destroy and kill path.
The world should be very ashamed to watch and do nothing.
This has been happening to the Palestinian people for DECADES …it’s diabolical that the war criminal that is the Israel state is being given a free pass .

You know it may not be in the msm so much, but people more generally haven’t forgotten.

My best friends DH thought he would start a help Gaza group to raise money and awareness before Christmas in a Sussex village.

On the first day 200+ people turn up squashed in a small room my friends husband had hired putting out about a dozen chairs 😄. He was overwhelmed, and the group has grown since.

So people haven’t forgotten and their humanity is still intact.

I don't know why I called him Donald. He is the president of the United States and not my mate!

The recent meeting between Trump and Netanyahu resulted in the illegal expansion around jerusalem. Jerusalem is seen as being outside of any negotiation.

Gaza seems to have slipped down the top ten with regard to newsworthy stories and this gives Netanyahu impunity - well he always had that but now unobserved impunity - to do as he pleases with the Palestinians.

We had a visiting missionary recently who works in Bethlehem. Hearing his testimony was both harrowing and inspiring.

I checked my new Labour MPs voting record yesterday and found he isn’t a supporter of Gaza/ West Bank /Palestine and has agreed with government policies on every occasion.
I have written to him on the subject and his woolly response should have warned me of his views.
There is to be another Palestine solidarity march at the end of the month.

Netanyahu continues with his aim to rid Gaza of Palestinians and move more Israelis in.

We have a quiet gathering after work time each Friday in the city centre. Placards, no shouting, just "never forget".

Thats impressive. people do care, but no clue "what can we do". One thing of course is raise money for reputable organisations like the Red Cross. They are still able to operate, we dont know what will happen in March to - for example - Medicins Sans Frontiere.

Our local Oxfam shop has a pretty much permanent poster in the window, about raising funds.

I saw a report on the BBC news site that the remains of the last hostage held in Gaza have been found and retrieved. At last.

Maybe things will begin to move more positively again now?

Yep.....and our so-called "news" is still full of photos and articles about individual people - the Beckham, the royal family, would-be starlets, you name it.....

Very frustrating when one is trying to actually read the news and so much space is taken up by all these individual people that have made a name for themselves and sometimes just by an accident of birth.

No wonder I look at newspapers so often and think "Here we go again - bread and circuses for the masses" when I just want to actually read the news.

What you call woolly is him disagreeing with your views but being diplomatic about it.

There are plans for Gaza but nothing can go ahead apart from clearing the rubble ( which is happening) but mainly waiting for hamas to give up their weapons.
