Wonderful news that the British Museum has successfully raised £3.5m so that this unique artefact can stay here and be on public display for all to enjoy.
Very few items remain from Henry VIII and Katherine of Aragon's marriage. As a history lover I am delighted that the beautiful Tudor Heart stays where it belongs.

I really don't see that our lives are much enhanced by this acquisition.

It's better than it be buried it again, melting it down, or for the person who found it and the landowner to sell a part of our history to some billionaire who could hide it away from public view.

This is a unique find and the public deserves to be able to go to see it and other treasures if they wish.

Are all our lives not enhanced by something beautiful and unique?

I would have loved to have held it just for a minute. The tales it could tell !

I believe it cost £3.3 million. In my opinion that could have been better spent.

It was donated. Are you suggesting that people should not be allowed to donate money to a cause of their choice, that sounds very authoritarian?

Donors can spend their money as they wish.
It is not up to us to tell others where to donate to causes.

What a beautiful object! Somehow I didn’t know about it. Just imagine being the person who found it.

Oh yes, absolutely one of the best moments of their life, I would think.
