RIP. I feel so sad for him that he didn’t live to see the current challenges to civil liberties in the USA overcome.

A man of dignity and stature, indeed. I mourn his passing.
I was aware of these demonstrations, Wyllow, but I do wonder how many US citizens are?
I understand, for example, that we in Britain knew of Mr Vance being booed at the Winter Olympics, but in the States, this was edited out in news channels.

Well I just googled "Fox News anti Trump demonstrations" (as in the last 2 days).

I welcome your reminder, Annie: yes, this is a thread for the Rev Jesse Jackson, who was a fighter against oppression.

But other significant people and events may be alluded to now and then, because we have a new wave of oppressions needing women ands men with his courage. I don't think we can separate the man from his politics.

Another great Civil Rights leader.

I remember him when l was a teenager in the Sixties. He seemed like a good man and worked tirelessly for the Black US Civil Rights Movement.

Rev Jesse Jackson. A truly genuine shining light with a massive presence.

I think our Politicians could learn a lot from him about what integrity really is.
