Would you be up early on Friday morning to watch the Groton and Denton results?

"I will always hold Farage responsible for Jo Cox's murder" A somewhat wide off the mark opinion.

With that in mind though who would you hold responsible for David Ames murder Maybee?

The mad person who stormed into his surgery and murdered him, no one else. However, Farage has used this horrific event as a reason not to hold much needed surgeries.

David Amess was my MP, not my party, but he was a good man who worked tirelessly for our constituency, turned up at countless events, including school concerts and animal charity events. He didn’t deserve to be murdered simply for doing his job and serving his constituency.

Hannah Spencer's comments about the Manchester arena bombing are unbelievable to be honest...

Taken out of context and, of course, I cannot find the comment Reform candidate made which prompted her response. As I keep saying, anyone can take a comment out of context and turn it into something it isn’t!

Cossy Fri 27-Feb-26 16:12:14

So I didn’t know too much about Polanski until recently.

I’ve known about Farage since his days as an MEP, I see his attendance records as both an MEP and MP, I own a holiday lodge in his constituency. I base my views of him as a “grifter” on years and years of his activities.

Out of interest, those of you labelling Polanski as coming from the same camp as Farage, why? I’ve not “judged” Farage on anything other than his behaviour since he entered politics and the “untruths” he’s been caught saying or doing.

Valid point Freya...

At least she can nip round to her constituents and sort out their plumbing and plastering. Qualified in both I believe.

The young woman who won for the Greens looked like the best and most sincere candidate by a country mile. Good for her. I would have voted for her.

That is so very funny.

In what way please?

In my opinion, the Green Party in any sort of power in this country is a far more calamitous threat for our future than Reform. My husband, who is very wise, told me very early this morning before I’d seen or read anything about the win in Gorton, that’ll be the Muslim voters keeping Reform out. Makes complete sense now ….

He's right. After reading the Green Party leader's views I dread Polanski getting into No 10 as much as Farage.

Rather Farage than the breast whisperer, then our country would be lost completely.

Who is the breast whisperer??? All that Google is saying is that this is a night time bra. We're not reduced to that surely. grin Do tell!

Zack Polanski, leader of the Green party in the past charged women saying as a hypnotherapist he could get their minds to grow their breasts larger. He has apologised but when someone shows you who they are believe them the first time (Maya Angelou), once a grifter always a grifter.

Thanks for that. My mind was working overtime!!! Another reason to add to my dislike of Polanski. He seems an unusual choice for the Leader of the Green Party. Hopefully that will be the only thing he gets to be the leader of.

Regarding the vote for non-English speakers - are voting papers only printed in English?

If those non- English speakers are entitled to a vote, then it makes sense for someone to help them with the voting paper, it could be a polling station official?

Why would they not speak English though - given they live in England?

Even if they didn't speak it fluently - they would know the names of the candidates and the parties and recognise them. So they just search their memory for 5 seconds and think "Yep...that's the candidate I decided and the party they are standing under". They would literally only have to have a few words of understanding of English and they would recognise the candidate they meant to vote for. So why would someone "need to help them"? Huh.........

As an add on, if you claim British citizenship, you are expected to have a decent command of English. That would not necessitate a "helping hand".Some thing very fishy.
How are the electoral officers chosen? As they were told about the suspicious goings on, was it ignored?

We need a lot more Hannah Spencer's her theme was you should work hard and reap the benefits, she did she qualified as a plumber and set to make a living, and deserves respect for that
We have far too many in the UK that don't work hard, the economically inactive numbers are a disgrace, if she can do it so can far more of that group.

Whilst I may not agree with everything she stands for, I absolutely agree with you re this comment David.

I view Polanski as a joint charlatan with Farage.

As do I. And grifters too, both of them.

Disclaimer, I am not a Reform supporter, but I can see why they have support by some of the electorate.

Until the main parties realise they are letting down some people and address this, who knows what the next government of the U.K. will look like 🤷‍♀️

Sorry that was to those talking about the uneducated who vote reform, if that is acceptable to say, I will be saying it regularly about those who cheer on the green party.

I think it’s a fair point to call anyone who votes for any party based solely on one topic, ie immigration, uneducated. Ignorance or lack of education isn’t necessarily calling people “stupid” or “thick as mince” (an expression I love but try not to use haha) I personally think a fair proportion of our population do need to educate themselves better when it comes to politics and governments, surely the better their knowledge and understanding of how this all work the co more likely people are going to actually bother to vote?

Our low election turnouts really make my blood boil, especially woman! If one isn’t going to bother to vote, then don’t moan about those in power.

Cossy...the only people responsible for the Manchester Arena bombing are Islamist terrorists.

Absolutely, I do agree, but I think she wasn’t blaming the actual bombing on Reform, but stating that sometimes horrific events such as the bombing can be caused, in part, by encouraging “hate” amongst or towards version groups of society. It’s never a good thing to take comments completely out of context.

CariadAgain Fri 27-Feb-26 15:41:03

I just wish we had proportional representation. I've long believed in it - but I think the need for it has got steadily greater in recent times.

On another line of thought - it's early days (think it's only been about 2 weeks so far) but I shall have to go and take a look at how many people have joined RestoreBritain to date. As - if it hasnt reached 100,000 yet = it can't be far from.
To me - it's the nearest party I can see to what I think...
One has to start by respecting someone who is very determinedly pushing the cause of all those poor young girls and women that got "used and abused" and it's been going on for years. I knew of it - but I didn't know just how bad it is...

Galaxy just the same old trope posted when people run out of things to post regarding Reform.

Used in the Brexit campaign by the Remain camp also.

Referring to people as uneducated really isn’t very educated

The terrorists responsible for the Manchester Arena bombing had nothing to do with Reform or Farage and was not at all comparable to the murder of poor Jo Cox.
Islamic extremism is responsible for very many attacks both here and around the world.
It wouldn’t matter to them who the MP ‘s or government was, that isn’t their agenda.

👏👏👏👏👏

David Amess one of our local MP’s was murdered whilst taking his weekly surgery

Extremists just do not care about anything other than their ideology…

The so called family voting has been reported on the morning news.

Whether it was one family or 100 it is illegal and therefore should worry those in charge.

It is not illegal in UK for a family member to assist a registered voter who needs companion assistance because of disability.

Much in this thread illustrates how easily Reform infiltrates its ugly misinformation agenda into the gullible minds of uneducated people who swallow it without question.

Trump does this in USA and Farage has followed his playbook .

As this was reported on breakfast news and in many newspapers I can only assume that these organisations are uneducated along with being infiltrated by Reform…
