Trump promises increased bombing and regime change. They are presently hitting Tehran one of the most populated cities in the region.
My heart goes out to innocent Iranians.

Just heard that Iran launched a missile at a US base in Southern Turkey, intercepted thankfully.
Does what’s left of the Iranian leadership have a death wish or are they just mad? Turkey has the second largest armed forces in NATO, highly trained, well-equipped and a whole lot closer to Iran than the US.
Was anyone else surprised to hear about this particular incident?

Turkey has up to now had a good relationship with Iran, with condolences being sent to the family of the Supreme leader and a condemnation of the US/Israeli attacks. Am not sure why Iran fired a missile at US bases in Turkey, is counter productive surely. God knows what either side is thinking right now. Is just off the wall.

He throws away people when they are no longer useful to him, so I doubt it.

The good thing is that the MAGA voters are also hearing this.
They haven't been happy recently with the economy, which is about to get worse, they are mad about the Epstein files, and now they are aren't happy about sending their children to war.
Let's hope more are waking up every day.

Tik tock, midterms are coming.

Maremia Wed 04-Mar-26 21:17:40

That might get his attention.

imaround Wed 04-Mar-26 21:05:59

The MAGA influencers aren't very supportive of Trump right now.

This article pretty much sums up how the Republicans feel about Iran right now.

Mike Johnson is doing what he can to stop any vote, I including sending the House home for 10 days.

Anyone with balls?

Tennis balls, golf balls, a football? Does that exclude women, Oreo? I'm more than happy with the way that our PM is handling this current situation. He has dignity, which is a rare commodity these days and is following International law. I can't help thinking that people like Trump (the draft dodger) and Hegseth, with his "Deus Vult" tattoo that meant he was flagged as an extremist by his own platoon, may have "balls" as you so delicately put it but do they have their own agenda which is perhaps about covering up their own inadequacies? IMO balls do not make the man intelligent, thoughtful, perceptive or strong it just gives them something to play with when they are bored!

AGAA4 Wed 04-Mar-26 19:20:20

Starmer has been strong over this.

Trump is the one who needs to man up. His behaviour is and always has been that of a peevish toddler.

The rules of engagement are there to protect both sides in a war, now that the US/Israel have attacked an Iranian warship in international waters Iran will feel justified in targeting western army bases internationally not just in the ME, and I imagine they have cells abroad that can do this.

Well, they have already done that, now Cyprus are crying because they weren't warned of drone attack by whom, Hezbollah. Starmer sitting on his a***, sucking up to his Muslim mates in Westminster, while Greec and France, yes France go to Cyprus to support. Hes kept our ship in dock in Plymouth, when it should have been out in the Med patrolling, as soon as he knew about this conflict. What an appeaser , what a shame he's brought on to our country. Disgusted.

Who would you like to see as PM at this moment in time?

Maremia Wed 04-Mar-26 17:31:24

Good news is very welcome just now,

Whitewavemark2 Wed 04-Mar-26 17:05:50

It is such a relief when you see this.

Thanks iamaround

The numbers on the Arkansas seat flip.

60+% is huge.

That’s such good news.
We need more of this 👏🏽👏🏽

Chocolatelovinggran Wed 04-Mar-26 16:33:59

Thank you for this, imaround - who would have predicted these results a year ago?

Let's hope so, imaround. As has been said many times, we appreciate you and other US members keeping up informed about what is going on over there.

Wyllow3 Wed 04-Mar-26 16:05:14

Good!

imaround Wed 04-Mar-26 15:57:11

Sorry. I know that seems off topic, but I think it is important for everyone to see how Americans are reacting to Trump. At the very least, he has gotten the "no reason to vote" voters off the bench, IMO Those 69 millions people who did not vote in Presidential will be key to use saving this country.

AGAA4 Wed 04-Mar-26 15:54:27

What we saw in Iraq was a massive blunder, a huge tragedy. I hoped to.never see this again but here we are. I'm glad Starmer has refused to have the UK involved in the attack.

Oh there is. But he has co-opted all 3 branches of Government. So they are all complicit.

Here are not quite final results from yesterday's Primaries in 3 states. I haven't read up on each, but reports are Progressives are beating our establishment.

Arkansas flipped a state level red seat yesterday, which is unheard of.

2 to watch. Roy Cooper is a very popular ex governor (in a red state) vs his opponent who is super Maga.

North Carolina has seen some shady crap from Republicans the last year. Including Republicans rigging the laws before they were voted out on the last go around which. Would have tied Dems hands.

The other one to watch is the Paxton on in Texas. He is a corrupt POS, and Cornwyn is a popular. Conservative, white male state senator.

In Dallas county. And 2 others, there were only 2 - 3 voting machines for the Dem primary, and 8 - 10 for Republicans. It is another form of voter suppression.

www.nbcnews.com/politics/2026-primary-elections/national

Yesterday opened up Primary season for Nov 2026. We can't use these to predict the midterms. But some information is helpful. Like Texas had the highest turnout for any Primary yesterday.

Democrats are choosing more Progressive candidates, but that could be Republicans voting on the Dem ballot. Strategic voting happens often during Primaries.

I predict we may see Texas turn blue in November.

Anyhow I am not sure how his party is reacting yet, that will be seen soon this morning. I am hoping for a vote of War Resolution Powers, but Johnson refuses to keep the House from their 10 day break. His days are numbered, which is good because he is 3rd in line to the Presidency.

I'll be back.

Good info imaround.
Keep us posted.

Well Starmer is telling everyone that we aren’t bombing Iran … makes a change from Blair and Iraq.
