That's a bit snippy, Oreo! GoldenLady is in America and appears to be aware that Iran's regime is not a good or peaceful one. To launch a sudden invasion without even consulting Congress is not the way one would like a US president to behave.

Well, what do you expect? Saying that Iran leaders aren’t peaceful or well meaning is like saying Stalin wasn’t all that kind to his own people.

I don’t value American opinions any more than from anyone elsewhere.
Americans can appear insular and not know much at all about any other Continent.Many simply aren’t interested in what goes on outside of the US.
Iran is the most terrible country due to its regime and the terror groups it sponsors.It’s the most dangerous country in the Middle East and possibly the world at this time.
Stopping their acquisition of nuclear and decimating their ballistic missiles and bankrolling of terrorists around the region and the world is very much well worth doing for the safety of us all.
If regime change happens then that’s a bonus.

b. he wont care. As he will be too old or ill to reap the consequences[on earth].

The views of American citizens are invaluable - you have more right to comment on your president’s actions than any of us IMO.

Please ignore any rudeness on here. Many of us are very concerned, and interested in the POV from Americans whose president is taking them to war.

A law made in Nigeria is not binding on someone living in the Uk for example.

A law made by the UN is not going to be binding to all countries.

I am worried about US law. Which says Congress are the ones who start wars. If he had justification for bombing, then it would have been approved quickly by his Republican controlled Congress. So far, even Republican members of Congress are saying they haven't been shown justification., though I haven't seen anything yet this morning.

Oreo, it is possible for other people to have some understanding of international matters, as well as yourself.

I do wonder about people who believe breaking the law is fine if it fits their agenda.

Trump’s plan to destroy 40 Iranian ministers wouldn’t have worked if Congress had been involved? Surely secrecy was essential for a surprise attack? Appalling though this whole situation is.

It is against the law. Even for the President of the United States. While you may be OK with your government breaking International law, I certainly am not.

Bombing a country is a simple matter ( albeit one with potential for significant loss of life on both sides).
Establishing a new order is a massively complex task. History suggests that the USA has not been very successful at this.

GoldenLady Trump is going against the wishes of his own people and I am so sorry for what he is doing to the American people.

The UK is sending a significant level
of defensive capability to Cyprus after the attack on a base there and are considering sending a warship.

Trump has been coming up with increasingly dangerous and unpopular actions for months now, both within America (ICE) and now Iran. This does not make Iranian leadership peaceful
or well-meaning, of course. But why kill untold numbers of innocent Iranian civilians (most of them children, according to the news) unless it's to deflect attention from other things?

The ICE invasion of many of our cities, and the racist imprisonment of thousands of people (many of them American citizens who speak with a foreign accent), and now risking a world war in Iran, are enormously unpopular here in America. Trump's poll ratings are at an all-time low.

I don't blame Europe for keeping its distance from this mess.

It’s the best thing the US have done in a long time.

They don’t have to be elite to earn a reasonable salary from the State.
In any case why care about what they want? They support an evil regime which recently murdered 36, 000 at the least of its own citizens.They will also hate all Jews everywhere and Western society.

What if more than 50 per cent of Iranians support the regime, which could be tbe case? That would not fit with your theory of a bought and paid for elite.

There was no threat to the USA. Saying so was lying to his own people.
