Trump promises increased bombing and regime change. They are presently hitting Tehran one of the most populated cities in the region.
My heart goes out to innocent Iranians.

He was not the 'Regime'. He was the leader. There are more.
They will have planned for this

Aveline Sun 01-Mar-26 07:34:18

The Persians I know over here are celebrating and so hopeful of a complete regime change in Iran. They should have the government of their choice and no more cruel suppression by the revolutionary guards.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 01-Mar-26 07:25:16

Not at all clear what the end result looks like either to Israel or USA

Israel has always made clear that it wants to destroy Iran, but given the assumption that it actually leaves some of the population alive, what does it consider job done?

Let’s say regime change.

The difficulty here is that there is no opposition. Of course many millions of the population abhors the current regime and want change, but there is no obvious alternative or leaders to point the way. Perhaps one will now emerge. But what if the alternative is not to Israel’s liking? Do we assume that Israel will only stop when such a leader emerges. And why assume that Israeli interests is Iranian interests.

Going into a war without knowing what the ending will look like will result in another Iraq.

This is a disaster for everyone.

A very dang world where one nation leader can play God, kill the other nation's leader to affect regime change and bomb civilians. Trump isn't doing this out of compassion for Iranian civilians. He hasn't a compassionate bone in his orange body.

Always men causing chaos and death

Is there anything that Trump can’t do without consulting with congress? I had no idea that the president had so much power.

He is not allowed to wage war against anyone. That is Congress job.

I cant think of many thing he has done that he is "allowed" to do honestly. I mean, he has basically wiped with our Constitution, so what's one more law or two to break. No one is going to impeach him right now.

Now there is a war I wouldn't be supporting Iran. It is an evil regime. Some on here seem to be on their side which is quite worrying.

“Nigel Farage, leader of Reform UK, wrote on X: "The Prime Minister needs to change his mind on the use of our military bases and back the Americans in this vital fight against Iran!"

Well done Starmer. We learnt our lesson in Iraq.

nanna8 Sun 01-Mar-26 00:32:10

A war always, always involves innocent people. On every side. Tell me one that has only hit the soldiers. I suppose you could go back to the eighteenth century but even then there were civilian casualties.

Starmer has not condoned this attack.I hope the Royal family can use the excuse of it not being safe to travel to America. Does anyone know what Farages reaction has been?

mae13 Sat 28-Feb-26 23:40:00

Surely now, none of our Royals will be attending the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the former colonies? It would be tantamount to handing Trump a seal of approval for his activities.

(Although I have no doubt Starmer will be there - given the chance - paying homage to his Puppet Master).

Wyllow3 Sat 28-Feb-26 23:17:20

We dont know who or what will step into his place. Disgusted by celebrations when so many are at risk of bombing, 60 children dead, disgusted, frankly,

and the little smiley emoji -words fail.

Grantanow Sat 28-Feb-26 23:13:33

Good riddance to the Supreme Murderer.

Do you have children that are on warships near there ?
Welll I have friends that do and THEY are not celebrating. Disgusting, this war is far from over, is illegal and already children in a school have been murdered. Yet you celebrate?
No war is for celebrating. Will you host the refugees Oreo of Iran when they come ? I hope so !

I have a British friend in Dubai. They are obviously staying in place. Everytime a missile is intercepted, their house shakes. They are very scared of course but at least communications are still open. It seems do strange to be WAing her live whilst this goes on

Ditto.

My friend has just WhatsApp’d me, they can see smoke, hear the planes/missiles overhead along with their building shaking.

All airports in the region closed.

DD's friend has send photos and a video from Dubai showing bombs dropping, buildings on fire in front of his home. Drones overhead too.

Wyllow3 Sat 28-Feb-26 22:47:37

What world do you live in! My god! Look further than your rose tinted, proUS specs.

Yes, he has gone. But the bombing continues. There is more bombing across the whole region. Many innocent lives are still being lost right now. Yes, there are reports of some celebrating, but many others reported as fleeing Tehran, terrified for their lives, and the 60 children dead in a school.

Criticism has mounted against Washington for taking part in the attacks while still engaged in nuclear negotiations with Tehran
Anger has also surfaced in Gulf states caught up in the conflict, as Iran launches retaliatory missile strikes against US military assets hosted on their soil.

Iran is now waging retaliatory attacks on Israel as well as in several Gulf states that host US military assets, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Kuwait. “All American and Israeli assets and interests in the Middle East have become a legitimate target,” a senior Iranian official said

“There are no red lines after this aggression.”

I repeat - there is no organised opposition to take over governance in Iran

Oh, we thought in Iraq it would be sorted by western enforced regime changed what happened?

JenniferEccles Sat 28-Feb-26 22:37:30

It really is Oreo !
My feeling is if they can pull it off, the whole of the Western world owes a debt of gratitude to Trump and poor Israel which has suffered so much at the hands of Islamic terrorists.

As Trump said this could well be a once in a generation opportunity for the Iranian people to get their country back.

Iranians are reported to be celebrating the death of their murdering tyrant of a leader.

Well done Trump and Netanyahu.

Oreo Sat 28-Feb-26 22:11:59

People celebrating in the streets in Tehran too.

Oreo Sat 28-Feb-26 22:10:03

Oreo Sat 28-Feb-26 22:08:49
