Israel and US hit Iran

Something will happen and hard to know what. Iran have said they will not negotiate with Trump

The big one apparently.
Using an RAF base in Gloucesterhire. Apparently.

I thought someone said Iran would negotiate, but Trump said it was too late?
Or only if total capitulation by Iran.

Trump is bored already I think.

Yes Cuba has been on the table for a while.

It’s all about the limelight.

How much of the world does Trump want to control before he thinks he has enough. Cuba next then what?

Greenland.

Greenland.

Yes. He won't give up on that.

I wish I could find the video that came up on my FB.
A Lego map of Greenland with a truculent, toddler Trump smashing it up because he can't have what he wants.

I can imagine Trump as a toddler......very much the same as he is now.

I just found this. Thanks to the Independent for putting it all into one nice graphic for us.

Poor Cuba. According to Chatgpt it has very little (elderly) weaponry with which to defend itself.

Wasn’t there a South American country attacked this week? Can’t remember which one.

Reuters After a week of war Trump demands Iran's unconditional surrender. This they say will make it difficult to get a swift end to this war

Indeed it will. Do you think he’s said that deliberately to prolong the war? Give BN more time to raze Lebanon and god knows what’s happening in the West Bank.

I forgot Ecuador.

I just went and looked for an update. Looks like the US and Ecuador are launching some kind of joint action against drug cartels. I saw some headline about Ecuador and Cuba tensions too.

I am sure this is not nothing, but I am not sure what it is.

Hearing some disturbing accounts about that Iranian ship they sank.
It could be that there were joint arranged manoeuvres between Iran and maybe India. And because it was some sort of 'practice' the Iranian ship was unarmed.
And they let the survivors drown.
If so, then that is a war crime.

Agree.

There are rules of engagement on the high seas which have been in use for centuries.

The USA is behaving alongside Netanyahu like the worst type of war criminal.

The activity in Equador is joint operation fighting drug gangs that have spilled over from Columbia. The government in Equador is democratic and friendly with the US, it uses the US dollar as currency. I visited a few years ago, police presence was pretty high then due to terrorist attacks, Im not sure if tourism is a safe option now.

Another thank you to our US posters, imaround and Golden Lady.
I can only imagine what it feels like to wake up each morning not knowing what your leader is planning to do today, but quietly confident that whatever it is, it will definitely not be good for you.

So as now (just now) the Iranian current leader

(BBC News feed) "In a video address broadcast on Iranian state media, the country's President Masoud Pezeshkian apologises to neighbouring states and says Tehran will not attack them "unless attacked first". this may mean that slights can resume from neighbouring states.

Now, Trump has said contradictory things - one is that he will chose the next leader (as he did in Venezuela) ie a puppet dictator, and on the other hand "the people must choose a new leader acceptable to his administration"

Which amounts to the same thing really, doesnt it.

Is Trump likely to choose someone who will be radical and independent, a change in ideology, what the people demonstrating in the streets want

Or someone repressive under his control?

Flights not Slights typo above!

What is really alarming are the Christian evangelicals, who crave the second coming of Christ.

This will be achieved they argue by Armageddon in the ME. This is as far as they are concerned a Holy War, and must continue until the second coming is achieved.

Mad as a box of frogs! But to underestimate this insanity is a mistake I think.

It’s the first time in history that the technology exists to take out a government which doesn’t have wide approval from outside powers. Whether this is used for the greater good and benefit remains unclear. However I think it gives the government in charge of the technology unlimited powers and control. Too sci-fi? But it’s happened.

I don't believe it can ever be good. Yes, once sci-fi, now a new reality.
