Trump promises increased bombing and regime change. They are presently hitting Tehran one of the most populated cities in the region.
My heart goes out to innocent Iranians.

How many of their own citizens has this islamist regime murdered, simply because they were fed up of Islamist theocracy. Yet Starmer kept his mealy mouth shut for fear of upsetting the Muslim voters, again.

Did you approve of the Iraqi war?

Oreo Sat 28-Feb-26 15:03:11

We know nothing Whitewavemark2 other than what Iran wants us to know, truth or not.

Casdon Sat 28-Feb-26 15:04:29

As to whether this is the right time, and the right method is a matter of opinion Oreo. You speak as though you know it is the right decision, but in reality you can’t know that, none of us can.

"Starmer Chairs COBRA Meeting" so says the BBC.

A timely distraction from the Greens trouncing Labour?

An utter disgrace of a post - people are being killed and the world is facing danger and you can’t resist a cheap shot. You should be ashamed of yourself. Of course if he hasn’t called a COBRA meeting you would be criticising him

But posters who have said that Trump is doing this to cover over anything about Epstein or lower ratings in the polls needn’t be ashamed of themselves I bet.hmm

In that reasoning anyone on here who speaks against it is just as wrong!
Of course it’s opinion, mine and any other posters.
What I do know is that the time will never be better as so many Iranians are crying out for regime change.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 28-Feb-26 15:16:31

Only a matter of time before Israel bombs hospitals and universities.

“A matter of defence” you know

Are innocent people really crying out to be bombed?

Whitewavemark2 Sat 28-Feb-26 15:18:08

Mind you a blockade is going to be difficult to achieve at Gaza levels. But I’m sure they will try.

Oreo Sat 28-Feb-26 15:22:39

Who are innocent people Maybee70? Am sure the IRG and police and anyone else who the present regime suits won’t like the missiles.
There’s bound to be casualties but the Iranians have been hoping for US intervention for quite a while now and will realise it can’t be done any other way.

The present Iranian regime is murderous.

And is not only murderous to tens of thousands of its own citizens but to the whole world by its funded proxies.
The regime there needs taking down.

I totally agree Oreo. The head of the snake needs to be cut off and negotiations do not work with murderous regimes like Iran.

They've said Ayatollah Khomeini is dead.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 28-Feb-26 15:30:26

Those rightly pointing out Iran’s bad human rights record appear to be overlooking that Saudi Arabia also has appalling HR record as has Israel.

Absolutely hideous. Thousands of poor foreign workers abused and killed. Nobody knows about Gaza as no press allowed in there. Must be hell on earth.

They've said Ayatollah Khomeini is dead.

As Ayatollah Khomeini was 86 when he died in 1989, it’s a fair bet that he is dead.

It continually amazes me how some people see the world in terms of black and white, right and wrong.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 28-Feb-26 15:40:52

Nearly 60 little girls deliberately killed.

Israel has form.

Nannylovesshopping Sat 28-Feb-26 15:45:14

My daughter-in-law works in Saudi, I’m fearful for her…

barmcake Sat 28-Feb-26 15:50:47

Thanks for the correction Casdon. It was Ali Khomeini,
and has not been verified yet. My apologies.

Keir Starmer has told Iran to stop bombing. Am sure they'll sit up and take notice!

Iran funds money and weapons to so many countries. I believe it would strike Israel if it succeeded in building a nuclear bomb. British bombers are involved now. I hope does not start WW3.

It’s the old desire, need, to have simple solutions to complex problems . Now we have a Potus who has the same mindset. Add to the chaos, he can switch between what’s right n wrong, truth n fake in seconds

Does anyone have family living in Abu Dhabi? Any news?

Tuliptree Sat 28-Feb-26 16:07:16

I have a British friend in Dubai. They are obviously staying in place. Everytime a missile is intercepted, their house shakes. They are very scared of course but at least communications are still open. It seems do strange to be WAing her live whilst this goes on

Grannmarie Sat 28-Feb-26 16:10:17

The Fairmount Hotel on the Palm in Dubai has been hit. It's on fire. ( Sky news just now) The local reporter said missiles have been flying over Dubai for a few hours.
Not clear whether it was a targeted missile strike or if it had been shot down by air defences.

I remember spending a lovely day there when we visited family who worked in Dubai. A different time now, very worrying.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 28-Feb-26 16:12:47

My best and longest standing friend is currently in Dubai babysitting.

We also have several friends who have relocated out there.

A very worrying time 🤞🏻
