Trump promises increased bombing and regime change. They are presently hitting Tehran one of the most populated cities in the region.
My heart goes out to innocent Iranians.

Of course it will he on Fox News. That's Trump's biggest supporter.

One slight correction: I see a lot of comments referring to what the US is doing. Technically, I suppose that's correct, but I hope the rest of the world realizes that this is not the doing of the US, it is all coming from Trump. Most of the US is horrified, furious and worried. Our lives are in danger, and our economy is sinking daily.

Yes, he was elected because he found a way to exploit the naivete of enough Americans to win (squeaked by without a majority of the popular vote, but with barely enough electoral college votes), but his voice is not the voice of the US. His current approval rating is something like 20%.

And without being a politician or any kind of political scholar, I am positive that I represent the opinion of the American people a lot more than Trump does. We are just hopeful that he won't destroy this beautiful country, and kill millions of people around the world in this display of machismo.

This 100%!

I had to pay almost $18.00 for deodorant this week. I am seriously planning out a garden this year to grow and save nearly everything I can so I don't have to spend so much at the grocery store. (I did that anyhow, but I am massively upscaling) My taxes went up, and now we are spending a billion a day I heard, on this war.

Establishment Dems are in trouble too. Jeffries and Schumer are on the short list.

I was listening to Gary Newman this morning talking about Trump, and his opinion is that Trump is totally persuadable, and will go along with the strong character. All Trump wants is the limelight and corruption.

This vacuous man, in Newman’s opinion, is being led by the nose by both Netanyahu and Miller.

I think that makes sense.

Something will happen and hard to know what. Iran have said they will not negotiate with Trump. Will they just keep on sending drones or do they have other plans?
Whatever happens the Epstein files will be waiting for Trump and possible goal sentence for Netanyahu.

What a great pair of leaders!

Not a peep I can see.

Thank you for your post GoldenLady flowers.

Seconded.

When Trump says he is not willing to negotiate unless there is a unconditional surrender it reminds me of Netanyahu saying the war in Gaza would continue until Hamas was completely eliminated. Tbh I don't think either is or was a possibility. Why do I think Netanyahu is writing Trump's comments? We could be looking at the complete destruction of Iran and Lebanon, which will leave nearly 100 million people, most of them completely innocent of anything other than wanting to live their lives and look after their family, in poverty and distress. Will this make Israel and the western world a safer place? Not in the long term.

Very like the 'special operation' Putin started with Ukraine MaizieD.

Sadly though he is the US and his action are the actions of the US despite the low support. Are there any protests, demonstrations etc taking place?

Yes.
He is the POTUS for better or for worse and this is much worse than we ever thought.

Anyway, how are the Epstein files? Still there?

I have read somewhere (can't remember where) that the DOJ has said that it is going to release some of the Epstein files it held back from the last release.

I have also just seen a clip of the US House Speaker, Johnson, saying that the US is not at war with Iran, it's just a limited operation. I wonder if anyone told Iran that?

It's like the four year old 'special operation' that Putin sent into Ukraine in 2022, I suppose?

When is a war not a war? hmm

Didn't a veteran have his arm or was it his wrist broken as he was 'escorted' out of a building for voicing his objections?

Yes that's true. Rule by fear. I don't think many of us want this.

😲

Speechless!

Just read it in Independent. Apparently a senator was ‘helping’ remove the ex- Marine from the room and hs arm . somehow ended up broken. The senator told him to go f* himself apparently.

I wonder how Trump will react to Russia helping Iran? I think his reaction will tell the world a great deal about his relationship with Putin and if, as some suspect, Putin has a hold over Trump.

Yep, I read that too. That Iran is bunkering down, ready for the long haul.
That this has been planed since at least the summer war.
That they will wait until Trump&Co run out of their massively expensive armaments.
That they are prepared to endure destruction.
Chilling.

Wyllow3 Fri 06-Mar-26 15:33:27

Tuliptree Fri 06-Mar-26 15:13:27

The US have more or less admitted they hit the girls’ school.

AGAA4 Fri 06-Mar-26 14:23:18

I think China and Russia will be watching carefully. They won't want a Trump controlled leader in Iran.

fancythat Fri 06-Mar-26 14:01:28

Plus, being reported that Russia is helping Iran with intelligence agianst the US.

AGAA4 Fri 06-Mar-26 13:31:36

Trump has taken a big gamble. What if Iran outlast the US and Israel? They seem to have a lot of drones. Although China aren't overtly helping Iran are they secretly sustaining them.
It is worrying to think that Trump aiding and abetting Israel could lose this war.
He's too pompous to even once think that could happen.

David49 Fri 06-Mar-26 13:28:22

The US has been producing drones for many years, mostly the larger type so it is a technology they know well, they will not be slow to recognize the development in Ukraine with smaller drones.
The US has unlimited production capacity, if Ukraine can, the US can x 1000

I don't predict what the end game is but heavy bombing on its own won't achieve it, there has to be more

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 06-Mar-26 13:07:58

Just imagine if trump hadn’t torn up that deal with Iran that Obama was instrumental in preparing with many other countries. Just imagine if trump hadn’t let his jealousy get the better of him…
