Oh I should add and a prayer for the suppressed women all over the world whose rights are being removed from them.

We have come such a long way……..read this!

This quote, written by the editor of the Aeroplane magazine published in 1941, was a common opinion regarding women in the ATA – the Air Transport Auxiliary. Unfortunately, such attitudes were not reserved only for this section of women, but most of those who participated during the second world war. Yet their skills, dedication, humour and courage in the face of adversity both home and abroad, helped secure the freedom we enjoy today.

Thank the Lord for equality, strong women and the men that don’t feel threatened by us!

Remembering my Mum, who I recall in 1961 had worked hard in her union to get what is now unimaginable - equal pay with her fellow male teachers.

Remembering how difficult it was to be "heard" in the 1970's in meetings and at work, at times, hitting head against glass ceilings.

Remembering and appreciation the efforts made to bring powerful women from the past to light again - in science, the arts, in churches....

Thanking the women (and men) who fought to stop sacking women because they were pregnant...

Indeed , Wyllow, we have achieved so much together due to the determination of so many.
We stand on giant's shoulders.
