Mr Trump Can't Shut This War Down........

.......even if he wants to because he's lost control of Netanyahu.

The Israeli military is going berserk with the full blessing of Netanyahu. The US giving him support was a disastrous mis-calculation and now Israel seemingly doesn't need Trump anymore.

If he thought he would have the Iran business done and dusted in about a week, and he would come out of it as King of the World........well, his biggest mistake (among many) so far.

That’s not exactly what Trump said … foxie48 - more like the cowards left the USA alone to stop Iran from becoming a nuclear power . So having done the hard work, it’s up to the cowards to protect the Strait of Hormuz as the USA doesn’t need it ….

foxie48 Sat 21-Mar-26 09:26:01

Trump starts a war without consulting his allies, expects his allies to help out when things get tricky and when they refuse because it's an illegal war, he threatens to punish them. Now he's saying he might stop the war but leave his allies to clear up the mess! What an absolute ba.....d of a man!

Grandmabatty Sat 21-Mar-26 08:03:30

Trumps latest is that he's thinking of winding down the war with Iran. So, in addition to the Iranians he had murdered, the American soldiers were killed for nothing. This man is truly insane

Trump has now called the NATO allies cowards for not accepting the simple task of opening the Strait.
He seems to think it's easy to send people and ships into the strait with bombs falling in rapid succession from Iran.
Perhaps Trump could be on the first ship to enter.

He called John McCain a loser because he was a prisoner of war. He could have been released early because of his status but he refused to be treated differently to his comrades. And still people voted for Trump.

It has been reported recently by various news agencies that Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr have been investing in drone warfare. Eric is investing in an Israeli drone company. This information is easy to find if you ask Google so it's no secret.

Neither do most of the NATO nations he has been berating, so I’m not sure where that leaves him?

Here's a chart:

It won't post but 3.8% of oil destined for Europe passes through the Strait of Hormuz.

However, it is not just oil and liquefied gas which passes through there. Food and, vitally, fertilisers which are essential for world food production also pass through the Strait.

Apparently according to the Guardian, Trump's considering winding down the war in Iran and other countries can sort out the Strait of Hormuz because America doesn't use it.

Whoops sorry thought you addressed that comment to me Petra. A daft bat moment.
Apologies.

Fallingstar Fri 20-Mar-26 15:50:30

Fancythat
You ask the question can Israel defend itself
That is the same as saying how long is a piece of string.
Let’s suppose that the *US joined forces with Russia to attack Israel: game over.
Then you could suppose what if Moldova decided to attack Israel: game over for Moldova.

I actually never asked that question Petra.
It must be another poster.

Trump the draft dodger calls others cowards.
It reminds me of a scene from Shrek where Lord Farquar says " You are going on a quest. Some of you will die but I'm willing to take that risk."

fancythat Fri 20-Mar-26 15:34:01

Perhaps Trump could be on the first ship to enter.

It irks me when I see him talking in some room or other.
But then it did with Zelenski doing the same.

I used to think, like in days of very old, that Leaders went into battle themselves.
How quaint an idea that now seems.

fancythat Fri 20-Mar-26 15:31:52

It was Basgetti who said that Israel is more than capable of defending itself.

If you use AI it should tell you the source of information at the end of the answer to your question

I didnt know that. Thanks.

If you use AI it should tell you the source of information at the end of the answer to your question. Often there are multiple references from different sources, which is more reliable than, say, something on YouTube, x or wherever, which is often just an opinion.

On here, as well as another forum, I am starting to 2nd guess things.

This comment
Israel has never lay quietly and accepted anything. It is more than capable of defending itself and destroying its opponents.

makes me question things again.
Can Israel defend itself?
I dont know.

I had to come off one forum.
I got I didnt know what to beleive.

And the other day, even the BBC website was wrong on something[it was discussed on this forum].

I sometimes give myself a break from social media.
I start to doubt which way is up on things.
I feel a break coming on!

fancythat Fri 20-Mar-26 14:54:31

Depends how much google is to be believed.
Quite a lot??

And AI. I cant get a handle om how truthful AI is.
I know it is wrong on some Biblical things.

Maremia Fri 20-Mar-26 14:35:49

fancythat, you could ask Google some questions on that issue.
I asked 'Has Trump benefited financially from his presidency?
And yes, his personal fortune has most certainly benefited.
Google will supply you with the figures and the sources.

Iran is without doubt the aggressor because it funds Hamas and Hezbollah to destroy Israel. Israel can’t be expected to lie quietly and accept this.
So what is Iran’s goal towards Israel? The complete destruction of Israel as a country. Why not oppose this? Trump is acting with integrity while so many countries pretend not to notice.
Regime change won’t come from Iran that’s true. But it will happen.

Israel has never lay quietly and accepted anything. It is more than capable of defending itself and destroying its opponents.

Integrity is not a virtue that can in any way, shape or form be associated with Trump. He doesn’t give a shiny for the people of Iran.

I for one am incredibly glad that our PM isn’t afraid to say no to his demands.

I don’t think Helen Thompson is saying anything much about Trump but she says a lot about economic political theory…. Best to dip in for yourself? Allira. Unherd has a fascinating podcast by her for example.

Can’t say I accept your proof for your laughs. You don’t have any…. petra. Helen Thompson is streets ahead if you take the trouble to listen.

Would you like to post your interpretation of what you believe Helen Thompson is saying about Trump? 🤔

fancythat Fri 20-Mar-26 12:52:12

Yes. You both could be right.
Liekly to be.

“The New York Times reports President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner is trying to raise $5 billion in additional funding for his private equity firm from Gulf Arab states, even as he serves as a top U.S. government negotiator in the Middle East. As part of the fundraising effort, Kushner’s representatives have already met with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, which is headed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman”
