Mr Trump Can't Shut This War Down........

.......even if he wants to because he's lost control of Netanyahu.

The Israeli military is going berserk with the full blessing of Netanyahu. The US giving him support was a disastrous mis-calculation and now Israel seemingly doesn't need Trump anymore.

If he thought he would have the Iran business done and dusted in about a week, and he would come out of it as King of the World........well, his biggest mistake (among many) so far.

Maremia Fri 13-Mar-26 08:47:36

He may not be able to shut it down, but he can, and may, walk away.
He did this in Afghanistan.

Chocolatelovinggran Fri 13-Mar-26 09:36:36

Indeed, Maremia: this is the most likely outcome, based on previous history.
How this leaves the people of Iran is in question. My suspicion is that they will, to put it very mildly, not have benefitted from this war/ special initiative.

Well Trump made a monumental pig’s ear of things and will obviously leave the whole region in a state of absolute mayhem.
But as he said at least oil prices in the US will go up so the US ends up winning financially as one of the biggest oil producers in the world.
Tough on all the other poor sod’s who don’t have oil - like the UK and Europe.
With allies like this who needs enemies.

Vintagewhine Fri 13-Mar-26 10:15:17

American Oil producers can make money but ordinary Americans get hit like we do as they pay the world price just like we do.

AGAA4 Fri 13-Mar-26 10:18:32

Trump will walk away from the war having made a lot of money. That was the reason for it apart from taking the heat away on the Epstein files.
He will be content to leave chaos behind him and to declare that he won.

Yes but Trump doesn’t care about the ordinary people just those who make money at the top of the tree.

IMO, it’s a complete and bloody mess.

Thank goodness we didn’t go “full on” as we did with Tony Blair.

Aside from the fiscal mess this has caused, the Ayatollah's son sounds just as bad as his father, in some ways actually worse. He’s a billionaire with £££££ spread across the world, and probably cells across the world too.

How dare Trump and Netanyahu drag the rest of us into this pointless and illegal war which achieves absolutely nothing and has already “murdered” innocent citizens.

I do NOT support the Iranian regime, nor do I support terrorism, but I also don’t support Netanyahu and his governments actions in Gaza, nor Putin’s actions in Ukraine, nor the Taliban and all those now suffering in Afghanistan.

All I can say is, what a bloody mess, literally.

What about the Strait of Hormuz. How much does he care about that?

Usedtobeblonde Fri 13-Mar-26 10:35:45

This, Trump and the Ayatollah and the other major players, is why I hope there is a Hell with reserved places there for them all.
I can’t contemplate what many believe, that when we die that is it.

Two of Mr Trump’s sons have recently invested in a drone production company:

“There’s no end in sight to President Donald Trump’s unprovoked and unconstitutional war with Iran, and two of the president’s children appear ready to cash in.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday that Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump are investing in a Florida-based drone company called Powerus that “is vying to meet fresh demand from the Pentagon” for drones that started when the Trump administration banned foreign-made drones and drone components from the US in December.”

So, dad bans foreign-made drones; sons invest in US drone manufacturing company; dad bombs Iran; sons’ company sell drones to government (a.k.a. dad) for use in war against Iran!

Wow!

There are mega bucks to be made from war, always a deal to be made out of other’s misfortune.
The whole family is rotten to the core and are building an empire over the bodies of innocents killed in the war. They don’t lose any sleep over it. Is evil.

Jared Kushner is being investigated for conflict of interest and must file his legally required public financial disclosure report within 30 days of his appointment as Special Envoy for Peace, according to a letter Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington sent to the White House.

ronib Fri 13-Mar-26 11:10:26

The new Ayatollah owns 11 houses in Bishop’s Avenue, East Finchley so it’s time to stop ownership of Uk homes by foreigners. What is the delay in getting through legislation? No wonder we have a housing crisis although in the case of the 11 houses no ordinary law abiding person can afford to live there.

A quote from Mary Trump about Donald from a while back -

"If he can, in any way, profit from your death, he will facilitate it and then he will ignore the fact you died".

She also said that Donald was her grandfather's monster!

Now Donald is everyone’s monster.

The jingoism by Hegseth in todays press conference was excruciatingly crass. He sounded like an exited schoolboy.

My goodness these people so need to go.

LizzieDrip Fri 13-Mar-26 14:48:32

The videos being pumped out by the White House ‘promoting’ the war are absolutely disgusting. They appear to reduce war, death, carnage & destruction to the level of ‘sport’ and ‘video games’.

What on earth is wrong with these people!

sixandahalf Fri 13-Mar-26 15:02:30

Some people love him. A few on this site were very excited when he started this latest blood bath.

Mr Trump Can't Shut This War Down......

It wouldnt surprise me.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 13-Mar-26 16:01:37

Cuba next

Maremia Fri 13-Mar-26 16:01:58

I tried and tried, but couldn't listen to Hegseth's boasting and jingoism.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 13-Mar-26 16:04:24

I bet if he had a blood test, it would be over the limit. He had no restraint.

I can’t see the USA doing that until the strait of Hormuz is a safe oil passageway. If they do, he won’t be able to declare victory, which is a cornerstone of his ‘campaigns’, which won’t go down well at all, even with MAGA.
