Mr Trump Can't Shut This War Down........

.......even if he wants to because he's lost control of Netanyahu.

The Israeli military is going berserk with the full blessing of Netanyahu. The US giving him support was a disastrous mis-calculation and now Israel seemingly doesn't need Trump anymore.

If he thought he would have the Iran business done and dusted in about a week, and he would come out of it as King of the World........well, his biggest mistake (among many) so far.

It’s o quite unbelievable that Trump sanctioned it. Read what their own Intelligence leads testified.

He’s also got his equally unhinged War man, Hesgeth. He’s out of control and seems scarily to be enjoying himself

I can't get over the fact that they were in the middle of talks with Iran and by some accounts (who knows really?) there was a reasonable prospect of a way forward. It does also make me wonder how qualified Trump's sil and Witkoff were to hold such talks in the first place.
Seems to me Netanyahu can't now be stopped, Trump stood with him over the prolonged slaughter in Gaza so may well do the same this time.

I'm a bit worried about who is going to organise or negotiate a "walk away" from this war.
USA have extremely competent diplomats & armed forces, but there needs to be some political leadership to take over & extricate USA & bring Israel to heel. And Trump has surrounded himself with wet-behind the ears "yes men" so there are precious few in his team who are going to be capable of the leadership & vision required to cease hostilities in a way that doesn't leave the Gulf states exposed to possible continued retalliation from Iran.

Other countries recognised an illegal and very dangerous, unnecessary war - let’s hope they stand firm

When I have seen some war documentaries in the past, there seems to have been a whole heap of strategies in play.

With this one, Trump hasnt even managed to sort out the Strait.
What on earth did he think would happen?
It wasnt hard to predict.

No wonder other Countries are not coming to his aid.

Does Trump have any allies now? He has managed to alienate most of them. Perhaps his only ally is Netanyahu who will take everything that Trump gives and just give flattery in return.

It doesn’t look like it 😂

I guess he doesn't hold all the cards anymore.

More heavy bombing today. I just saw that Trump has now said that American allies should take sole responsibility for policing the strait if the US causes the Iranian regime to collapse. He is a piece of work.

The new Ayatollah owns 11 houses in Bishop’s Avenue, East Finchley so it’s time to stop ownership of Uk homes by foreigners. What is the delay in getting through legislation? No wonder we have a housing crisis although in the case of the 11 houses no ordinary law abiding person can afford to live there.

Pretty sure that The Bishops' Avenue is a place where no ordinary citizens have ever been able to afford to live! On the other hand, they are mostly all gone to ruin through neglect so a chance for compulsory purchase by whichever councils are involved might be an option.

Ronib, and aside...really interesting about Bishops AVE as I used to drive past all those houses once a week when I worked in Hampstead. Often wondered who owned them as they were very big and, at that time, left unattended to fall into ruin.

I worked in Tehran for two years, twenty years ago and have many Iranian friends who have left and one still in Tehran. They are all desperate for someone to get rid of their awful dictatorship. They’ve tried themselves several times, but last time, in January, 40,000 were killed. I feel I’m the only person in the West who understands this.

IMO, it’s a complete and bloody mess.

Thank goodness we didn’t go “full on” as we did with Tony Blair.

Aside from the fiscal mess this has caused, the Ayatollah's son sounds just as bad as his father, in some ways actually worse. He’s a billionaire with £££££ spread across the world, and probably cells across the world too.

How dare Trump and Netanyahu drag the rest of us into this pointless and illegal war which achieves absolutely nothing and has already “murdered” innocent citizens.

I do NOT support the Iranian regime, nor do I support terrorism, but I also don’t support Netanyahu and his governments actions in Gaza, nor Putin’s actions in Ukraine, nor the Taliban and all those now suffering in Afghanistan.

All I can say is, what a bloody mess, literally.

100% in agreement regarding The Ayatollah´s son / Netanyahu / Putin, The Taliban and Trumphet in addition to other murderers.

They have all murdered innocent children and adults.

If it means freeing the true people of Persia from the ideology that has taken over and persecuted them. Then it’s worth it. My opinion only.

I think KC could pull the health card if he wishes.
Diplomatic enough and acceptable.

No, it would be obvious to the White House what was going on and would make relations between the UK and the US even worse.

Maybe he should be honest and tell Trump he's not a friend any more and he'd rather do some gardening and William's diary is busy..

And maybe he shouldn’t 🤔

But if he did that William would probably have to go instead. I doubt if he'd be over keen...

What to do about the royal visit

AGAA4 Wed 18-Mar-26 08:30:54

Very difficult for King Charles. After constant insults to our country and mostly the insult to our armed forces he must feel huge antipathy towards Trump.
