It’s less convoluted to admit that Trump doesn’t know who the president of Ireland is.
.......even if he wants to because he's lost control of Netanyahu.
The Israeli military is going berserk with the full blessing of Netanyahu. The US giving him support was a disastrous mis-calculation and now Israel seemingly doesn't need Trump anymore.
If he thought he would have the Iran business done and dusted in about a week, and he would come out of it as King of the World........well, his biggest mistake (among many) so far.

Ronib Kent is saying exactly what many are saying ie that Netanyahu drew Trump into this war. I'm not anti Israel, I'm not anti semitic either but I am very much against the Israeli government with Netanyahu at it's head. Netanyahu has said they will “will strike hard at the terror regime and create conditions that will allow the brave Iranian people to cast off the yoke of this murderous regime.” whilst privately acknowledging that Iranians will get "massacred" if they come out on the streets. The cold blooded cruelty of Netanyahu fills me with horror. What sort of person is so duplicitous and uncaring of the lives of innocent people?

There’s no point in trying to make an assessment about Trump on GN… it’s a closed shop. Don’t waste your time. Just keep to the current orthodoxy ….
Yet here you are, free to express your own take on Trump.
I'm listening.

Their supply of weapons will diminish as time goes on, unless they are being replenished in secret.
Other Interests may very well supply Iran with whatever's needed to inflict economic damage on Europe, the global reputation of USA, etc.

I was trying to give Kent the benefit of the doubt - it’s certainly right that he has resigned from government having such anti Israeli views.
Interesting you never come straight out in supporting the Donald yet make it clear

Do you know any men called Catherine ronib?
Who have a First Husband?!
Do you know any men called Catherine ronib?
Are you sure it’s the wrong gender? Casdon
Sometimes you have to laugh. I just picked this up from CNN:
‘Ireland’s president, Catherine Connolly, has condemned the war in Iran as an assault on international law, also saying that “the normalization of war can never be accepted.”
Asked about her comments, Trump replied: “He’s lucky I exist. That’s all I can say,” apparently referring to Connolly by the wrong gender.’
I was trying to give Kent the benefit of the doubt - it’s certainly right that he has resigned from government having such anti Israeli views.
It’s possible that as US Head of Counter terrorism, a US special forces and CIA veteran, he knows more about it than ronib does. In any case, it’s his opinion. I highly doubt he is confused.
Ronib I've been reading what was put in the BBC and the Washington Post, neither included the words " in a war manufactured by Israel," but having read the complete letter I apologise. However, I disagree that the letter is confused, he's pretty straightforward in what he says and it's certainly true that Israel and Syria have effectively been at war since 1948 even if Israel has claimed neutrality for long periods.
I wonder how much damage this resignation will do to Trump's standing in America and the world; I'm hoping it will do plenty.
Resignation letter
As a veteran who deployed to combat 11 times… who lost his beloved wife Shannon in a war manufactured by Israel….
Ronib where have you read that? There's nothing in his letter to Trump that I read that suggested anything of the sort. Below are what the BBC report said was in the letter.
"no imminent threat" to the US and claimed that the Trump administration "started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby"
Kent said that had previously supported Trump's foreign policy platform and until last year believed that he had "had understood that the wars in the Middle East that robbed America of the precious lives of our patriots and depleted the wealth and prosperity of our nation."
Kent alleged that "high-ranking Israeli officials" and influential US journalists had sowed "misinformation" that caused Trump to undermine his "America First" platform.
"This echo chamber was used to deceive you into believing that Iran posed an imminent threat to the United States," the letter continued. "This was a lie."

Trump official quits in disgust and claims Israel and its US supporters convinced/pushed Trump to go war with Iran.
NYT reporting the same. I think that it is generally accepted now - in fact it was suggested after Netanyahu’s last visit to the WH - that Trump was pushed into the Iran war.
I suspect that Miller an unelected advisor, was also instrumental in sending USA troops to fight an illegal war, and get killed.
Republicans are beginning to distance themselves from the shambles.
Sadly Joe Kent has demonstrated his lack of understanding towards Israel - Israel did not cause the war with Syria. He is showing his feelings and blaming Israel for the death of his wife, Shannon when she was working in Syria. Sounds confused?

From what I've read it seems to be 'Whose supply of weapons will run out first?'
I know that Israel has a great many but they've been using so many in different places in the past few years. They surely can't replenish them as fast as they use them; there must ba a possibility of them running low.

^Iran can keep the Strait of Hormuz closed long enough to cause severe economic damage6
Anyone have any idea how long that might be?
Could it be indefinitely?

^My main take from it is the US doesn't want to be left with the consequences of a bad outcome eg civil war in Iran, economic instability, instability in the ME^
Do you think that 'what the US wants' is of any interest to Trump?
No, it's what Trump won't want and he's currently trapped himself into something that he's struggling to get out of. I've just listened to the Trip US podcast, interesting insight into what is going on in Washington ATM, lots of people around Trump are distancing themselves and want the US out of this war but Hegseth et al are keen to keep going. Trump seems to be stuck in the middle.
Just listening to Trump at yesterday’s press? Conference.
He is ill - no question.
According to a yahoo news, America had two state of the art Mine Sweepers in the Middle East which were moved (don't know when) and have turned up in Malaysia, 1000's of miles away.
So, why is Trump asking his allies to supply mine sweepers potentially putting the live of their armed forces at risk, when he had two of America's vessels in the area which have conveniently been redeployed?
