I would be far more interested in a book, or even a hustings speech from Matt Goodwin, as an aspiring MP, that talks about what really matters to the UK electorate- e.g. the environment, the NHS, education, how hard teachers, Drs, Nurses, Police, Firemen etc etc work for us, the fight against Climate Change and how to mitigate it, food security, helping the poor and needy, animal welfare, helping poorer countries (this has a likely beneficial impact on future numbers of asylum seekers), thinking about solutions for employment for the young and unemployed, fist time buyers, workers rights, human rights, care for the elderly, care for the very ill, how to mitigate pollution. In essence how he/Reform UK intends to work for the best interests of people in any of his future, possible, aspired for constituencies.
Thus his book, with a key focus on anti immigrant rhetoric, to the negligent lack of focus on other issues, projects a message that he cares less and little for any of the many, many other, arguably more pressing issues that the general population faces day to day.
The Iran war is projected to further lower UK Growth and have an adverse impact on inflation, cost of living and fuel costs as the UK is heavily reliant on oil and foreign imports. It appears to me that Matt Goodwin/Reform UK’s anti immigrant rhetoric and focus thereon is in itself suicidal and self sabotaging- pot calling the kettle black so to speak.
There is a risk that MG Reform UK, as they seek also to become members of 'the ruling classes', by hoping to win a General Election, are seen as highly likely to contribute on, possibly on a greater scale, to the “Suicide of a Nation” than the 'ruling classes' to date.
