Do all those people just forget all the teaching and worship Trump, will the Catholics recognise Trumps views more highly than the Pope? I think not, this will most likely be his undoing as how can he wriggle out of this.

There is an interesting conundrum here. When I was a child many people in the Uk were suspicious of catholics, especially Irish catholics in the army - and the army always had lots of irish recruits, because, it was claimed, that they would always obey the Pope, even when his 'commands' ran counter to national policy.

Is that argument going to be revived in the USA?

The guest said the Pope should keep out of politics (obviously the party line’. Challenged by Mat Chorley about his politics/faith, he responded by comparing himself to Dr King, he could and would do politics and faith, an option not available to the pope
He repeated Trump’s claim that the Pope is weak

Why can a Baptist Minister be involved in politics but not a Pope? As far as I can tell, the Pope, does not involve himself in politics but, naturally for a spiritual leader, wants peace.

I totally agree. He's kept in post by Republican's who know their jobs will be gone when Trump goes. The sooner the better I reckon but we'll probably have to wait till there's more democrats around.
