Gambling is 'ok' as long as it doesn't lead to an addiction, likewise alcohol but cruelty to animals is never ok.

Smileless, could you possibly rephrase , and say that gambling on e.g. football is is much more okay because it does not depend on cruel use of animals?

Same as the illegal drugs industry,; commercial gambling both gives pleasure and ruins lives.
