Banning anything due to a small percentage of the population having a problem/addiction is far too authoritarian for my liking.

It's not going to happen because too much revenue is raised
On the other side why not legalize drugs and tax them, addicts dont matter they just facilitate the tax.

Although Im a risk taker I abhor gambling because I know the odds are stacked against me and I cant win. It doesn't matter whether it's horses, lottery, or the stock market. Unless you have insider information and cheat you are going to loose

I don't know if any other GNs find this happening.

I browse the internet quite a bit but I am always very careful untick any boxes that allow third party access.

Nevertheless, I often get as many as twenty or so gambling notifications in my Junk file every day. They mainly offer free spins, whatever they are, as an inducement to join the sites. I should add that, apart from a bit of a flutter with 2p pieces in an arcade and the occasional raffle, I don't gamble.

What worries me is the fact that these sites appear to be totally unregulated and they must be tapping into other sites that have no relevance to betting and gambling. No doubt these sites are selling lists on.

It would be all too easy for me to click on one or more of these gambling sites for a 'free spin,' to get sucked in and end up on the slippery slope of gambling addiction.

The casinos are designed purely for revenue extraction, allowing current Supreme Leader “Rocketman” Kim Jong Un, grandson of regime founder Kim Il Sung, to tap into international gambling demand whilst maintaining a hard internal ideological line.

Oh, and horse racing is allowed again because it brings in revenue. However, it is strictly for "the elite" - in an "egalitarian" society. 🤔

I think that the most powerful "spreading the gambling possibilities" is probably social media, untouched by TV, but it's some way maybe.
