I can’t help wondering what would happen if he is found guilty of serious sex offences or Misconduct in Public Office. Would he go to prison? Surely that would be extremely expensive as they would no doubt have to provide 24 hour protection. Perhaps the Tower of London! This is awfulfor the Royal Family.

Do the crime serve the time comes to mind ….

Just lock him in the tower and forget him!

I think the RF are sick of him and would love to see him locked up and the key thrown away.

I hope that if charged he will be treated like any other member of the public.

Without going into graphic detail, it must depend on what actually happened. If they were underage victims, rape or other serious sexual or physical occurred, then if proven, surely he would receive a prison sentence in line with other perpetrators?

Andrew must pay the price if he is charged but I would like to see more focus on other perpetrators. He is not the only one in this sordid business.

I agree AGAA. I wonder whether AMW has a very low IQ. The ways in which he is reported to behave are otherwise inexplicable.

I agree AGAA4 seems to be something of a witch hunt because he is a member of the Royal family.

If they question the women involved I hope they are truly honest about what happened. It would be too easy to be tempted by the thought of compensation.
Being forced into prostitution is one thing but the word 'recruited' was used, which is totally different.

From what I've heard on the news today Sadgranma the police are investigating anything which would result in charges of Misconduct in Public Office, which could include sex offences so your thread title isn't correct.

I think he is just not as bright as his siblings. When he left the navy, I think the reason given was some phrase about unable to see suitable role for him. In other words, he had gone as far as he was capable of, possibly a rank further up the ladder than could strictly be justified, so an honourable resignation seemed the best solution.

Sometimes I think I might be more complicated than 'just not as bright as the others' because the constant stories one hears of his boorish arrogant behaviour is something he would not have learnt at home and I think a lot of effort would have gone into trying to stop it. Other members of his family do not behave like he does.

Anniebach Fri 22-May-26 21:14:50

How does one know Andrew does not behave as other of his family behaves?

Although the emphasis has been on the nature of AMB's sexual exploits, I believe there are also some serious questions to be answered about his time as UK Trade Envoy between 2001 and 2011 when he ran through fifteen million pounds of British tax payers money. A significant amount of which was spent on private trips by jet and five star hotels as he refused the customary free accommodation offered by foreign embassies.

Other allegations include wilfully neglecting duty, misconduct leading to personal gain and sharing confidential material.

I am sure where AMB came from. It should, of course read AMW.confused

The powers that be are looking into it. It was only a couple of days ago that it was announced that the people investigating it looked at the late queen’s response to his appointment.
The sticking point often mentioned was the fact that he wasn’t vetted.
The appointment was very much pushed through the appointment. Something for him to amuse himself with 🤷‍♀️

Many mentioned that the King did not look well during the King's Speech recently. Would you wonder? AMW is a constant thorn in the side of the Royal Family. He should answer for any crime he has committed like anyone else but as for punishment, prison would be a problem as the OP mentions and he never seems to have any money so a substantial fine is out of the question. House arrest?

How many reports are there of any other frontline royal member behaving in the rude and bourish manner that seems to have been a signature feaature of AMW.

Even before recent problems AMW had a reputation for being arrogant, entitles and boorish. We had navy friends, who knew far more about his naval reputation than ever made it to the papers. Compare this with Prince Harry, who seems to have been liked and respected by those who served in the army with him.

Everything I read says that the King and consort, Prince Edward, Princess Anne and their immediate family are courteous and friendly, in private and public. This has never been said of AMW.

Anniebach Sat 23-May-26 10:01:27

Thank you, you obviously read far more of the royal family than i .

Maremia Sat 23-May-26 11:07:26

That's entirely possible.

I don't actually. I just read daily newspapers, listen to radio 3 and 4.

I don’t imagine for one second that A will go to prison.

I see what your mean Oreo. I think it may be because the words 'probe' and 'sex' appear in the same sentence.
