Hi do you mean bleed kits ?

There are several parents of young people who have been stabbed to death raising money to distribute these to schools and other places were youngsters gather.

I would also like to see more knife arches around the country.

Tried to find how many times they have been deployed in your (our) seafront location recently. Apparently they do not keep a record, but they are being deployed more frequently.

We often hear that youngsters particularly young boys carry a knife in order to feel safe. Unfortunately these safety items anre often used against them resulting in serious injury or death.

Yes, of course, I mean bleed kits. Thanks for the clarification/correction thanks

Out of respect, I’m starting a new thread to discuss knife crime in general.

On the Henry Nowak thread one poster stated “we’ve hit an all time low”.

I don’t believe this to be true, sadly.

I remember the Ben Kinsella case and we’ve sadly had many more young people killed in knife crime.

This doesn’t detract from this awful recent case, but there’s lots of families who’ve grieved the loss of a loved one.

Instead of people rioting and becoming violent, imo, what we need is a joined up approach, offering respect and empathy to those families affected and support to our police officers who, in general, do a good job in awful circumstances.

Our MP in my local area has a great concern around knife crime, as well as raising awareness, supporting our local police and speaking out, he’s raised money for “knife crime kits”, to help in various areas in our large town (city), in order to administer immediate first aid to those people who have been stabbed until emergency services arrive.

He acknowledges it’s awful to have to do this, but is attempting to minimise damage caused from a number of different angles.
